So as I was crawling around the boat getting ready to run wires and everything else I am doing I noticed that the cupholders in cockpit are not hooked to anything to drain. Figures. So I went and bought 3/8" ID tubing and T's, clamps, etc. Figured I would get everything going together. As I was sitting this evening looking at the two cup holders on the swim platform I noticed they drain to a small piece right onto the platform.

So My thought is, rather than run tubing all over the place, why not just put a few of these in, in the cockpit and drain right onto the floor which would then drain out the back. Really only a concern during rain, something spilled or washing. I am not sure what these are called or where to find them, my search came up empty.

I am not sure if it is a good idea so I am looking for some thoughts. Figured it would be cleaner than running hose all over the place back to the bilge.

Well I have searched here on the forums, Yamaha Parts, Amazon and several boat supply websites and I am unable to find what this part or what the heck it is called. Seems odd since I would assume this is used on other boats as well.

So basically they are just called Drain Fittings? I was hoping that there would be a specific name for this type or something similar for aftermarket, etc.

They're basically called deck fittings. However, I don't think I've ever seen any quite like these. They may be made specifically for yamaha? Granted I can't say I've been around every boat on the planet. LOL!

There's this option. It isn't directional, but seen these on other boats for cupholder drains.

@suke yes that is what I am finding. Was hoping for something I could just snag easier or that were less costly. I don't see anything aftermarket that would work, mostly too big like a through hull fitting or something.

Thanks for the link, the white 3/8" would be an option. The other ones I found where to big in diameter.

@TimW451 Thank you. Sometimes I am in awe of how much boat stuff costs for parts.

Which cup holders are you referring to? The one on my console has a drain line feeding to the starboard side and IIRC, when I looked further (shoved my fat ass in there to look down the starboard side), it appeared to be connected to the two just behind the throttles. No idea where it drained to, but I haven't noticed water elsewhere.

The two cup holders on the front step in the bow have no lines on them, those simply drain into the bottom to the bilge. I can't remember all the rest, but when we head up north, I can try to remember to take a pic of how mine are set up...I seem to recall looking at this after reading another thread trying to root out water intrusion.

I like your idea of simply draining it to the cockpit. Way less drain line to run, and the amount that it will spit out really isn't going to cause a flood. A good rainstorm would show the brilliance of your idea, since it's a royal PITA when it's flooding your carpet under the seats.

Found a few other less expensive ideas, maybe these might trigger something for you:

@drewkaree My dash one is connected to a tube that is a couple feet long that empties on the carpet under the throttles. The two behind my throttles have no hoses. The two on the cockpit rear seats have no hoses either. Yamaha quality in action yet again.

Yes you can dump them all into the cockpit. I was going to do the same thing and buy the deck drain fittings and everything when I first bought the AR192. I ended up just plugging the cup holders. Here’s one of the old threads talking about these things https://jetboaters.net/threads/new-boat-trailer-questions.21842/post-372596. Deck drains would be a nice clean way to do it but I eventually just said the heck with drilling all those holes in my cockpit and went the easier route.

Are there supposed to be drain hoses on the cup holders? When I was re-installing the batteries on my AR210 yesterday I noticed that there was no hoses on the rear cockpit cup holders.

I also noticed that some foam at the back of both the port and starboard side storage areas has come loose and a screw on the port side wall that separates the storage from engine compartment was only half screwed in...

Only if you want to direct the water that drains through your cup holders to a better place other than the carpet or contents of your storage areas.

My front cup holders (those that are located on that "step" right below the anchor locker) drain directly into the bilge, so I don't worry about drain hoses on those, but all the rest of my cup holders require drain hoses. My swim deck cup holders have the drain lines connected to the drain fittings directly below those cup holders. Pour some water in them. If you never see a drop of that water show up anywhere, yours are missing or disconnected. The cup holder directly underneath my "glove box" drains directly to the cockpit, so no need for a drain hose, it's doing what it should, just watch what you put underneath that cup holder.

For all the rest, check them, trace the drain line, or add a drain line, and make the water go where you want it to go.

I am tempted to run hoses from them, but only straight down underneath the carpet (or to the gunnel and under the carpet), so it dumps directly into the bilge. Your cockpit idea is probably better if you store the boat outdoors...

I really don't understand why they don't stick a hose on every one and have it dump into the bilge. The amount of water is going to be insignificant when directed there, but when it leaks into your carpet, and onto all that's in those compartments, the headache it can cause is annoying. I know in the end, it all comes back to money - how much the hose would cost times the number of boats made...still, for a few cents, you have one less thing to have someone pissed off about.

@HangOutdoors Here's what I did. I consider myself a trendsetter since I did this before Yamaha included them on boats for free :D

https://jetboaters.net/threads/drai...rs-to-rear-cleanout-tray-on-2017-ar190.23671/ <--Bulkhead fittings are on my McMaster Parts List in that thread. That tubing is WAY oversized, but works well.

I used screw covers to plug the cockpit cupholders. They don't collect enough moisture to fill up....UNLESS....it's pouring rain, then everything is wet anyway. The swim platform cupholders however will with water quickly when just plugged, so I put drains on those.

Bothered about the spilled drinks as well as when I hose out the boat pretty good. At least that is what I was pondering.

Did you ever do this? my transom cupholders are not connected to anything, but I do see that drain plug that you are talking about. Right now it goes right to the bilge and it;s alot of water when it rains, not just a little.
