I love trying new beer; the more the better;) Last summer my favorite was Oculto. I think I just found a new favorite for this summer; Sam Adams Grapefruit IPA. What is your favorite summer beer?

I just tried the Oculto and didn't care for it ... Guess it's that tequila taste that wasn't favorable to me.

I usually stick with Yuengling as the daily but shuffle in many variations of IPAs. So many beers and not enough time!

Summer shandy on a hot long day.

Harpoon IPA, crisp and hoppy, but fairly light for an IPA. I think it's under 6% so you can have more than three;)

Southern Tier Live

30A by Grayton for everyday drinking, Shock Top Lemon Shandy or Leinenkugels Summer Shandy for boat days, and New Belgium Heavy Melon for something different.

Oh yeah, and lots of Coors light to stay hydrated.

Not a beer...but a malt beverage (in the US) - Mike's Hard (or Harder) Lemonade. In Canada they make it with Vodka...even better :-)

In the winter, straight (neat)...but in the summer, add an ice cube!:winkingthumbsup" I know, I know, not a beer, but you have to admit, it takes up less room and requires less ICE! Plus it is newly discovered by me.

A bit off topic, but what else is new....I took the kids out to dinner on the pier the other night and they discovered the Moscow Mule. Complete with copper mug and fresh ginger. I was informed that it's going to be the new summer drink for this year. It better be, we now have 6 copper mugs at home...not sure how that happened

But back to the original post - Sam Adams Grapefruit IPA ? Is that available most anywhere? Last summer my wife had a grapefruit beer from Santa Monica Brewery over by, you guessed it, Santa Monica.:winkingthumbsup" Well she was searching hi and low wanting to buy some to bring to the river but they only made a short run and didn't bottle any and she's been pining for it ever since. I'll have to keep an eye out for the Sam Adams - she'll be tickled pink! :p

Has a little more bite than Summer Shandy but still quite refreshing. The grapefruit IPA's seem to be popular this season.

My favorite summer beer is the following, which happens on occasion but not very often. This is truly the beer that quenches my thirst!! Every now and then we plan a short trip, just head out in the evening for and hour or two. Next thing you know my buddies show up with their boats. Then it turns in to a evening raft up that goes past sundown. The bad thing is I have only packed like 4 Miller Lites and some bottles of water in a small soft cooler. THE BEST BEER, are the loaners my buddies give me when I run out!!!! Doesn't even matter what kind!!!!

I don't know what it is, but the grapefruit drinks cause big issues with some common medications, so be careful with that!

Mmmmmm Shock Top!

Remember to pick up a bunch of those rubber chair leg ends to put over the bottle caps so you don't rip the lining of your AO coolers!

have some 30A left over from my recent trip to Destin

I'm actually thinking of filling growlers from one of our local craft breweries this year.
