Just curious, what is the typical price range for these in "average" condition. A friend is looking at one, needs a few seats redone, sub 200 hours, overall looks clean. Not perfect, but not junk either.

Thanks

There is a pretty big spread in prices on these depending on how it was maintained and condition it could be anywhere from $2000.00 "need major repair" to $10,000.00 "very good" condition, needs almost nothing. I know that is a big spread but there is that big of a difference in them. I would think a good average is $6.5 - 8.5k. Hope that helps

It does, they're asking 10k, and like i said it isnt perfect. So they're 2 or 3k over priced.

Do you happen to have any pics of it? Things that would increase the value are wake tower, upgraded stereo, updated trailer ect.

My bad, I saw the LX210 in the description, the AR should have the tower from factory, and a few other upgrades. From the LX210 and LS models. I would think you could move the average up $1,500 - $2,000 assuming it is in good condition and only needs a few seats recovered. Sorry for the misread.

$10K for a very good condition AR210 with trailer (also great condition) would be what I have seen them advertised for.

There is so much that would go into the condition though. I doubt these boats had hour meters so I would question the 200 hours on the engines.

What upgrades does it have?
What is used in fresh water only? You can tell a lot by the jet pumps
Take a test ride for sure!
Upholstery is more expensive than you might guess. A couple of seats could be $1K. The entire reupholstery can range from $1-2K as a rule of thumb

Pictures would definitely help! If you can also get a few of the engine compartment. 10k i would think is top of the line, or close to in excellent condition with upgrades included. A compression test is the only way to determine the engine health as there are no hour meters. As others have said, take it for a test ride.

Also, when i was first looking, i almost purchased what appeared to be an "excellent condition" xr1800... when i looked at the bottom of the hull, there was extensive damage to the gelcoat and fiberglass on the entire keel. Do not forget to look underneath!!!

I don’t think 10 is out of line as a starting price... the tower/Bimini/swim platform are nice to have and I believe were standard for the ar210. But I think the upholstery was downgraded a bit from the earlier ls/lx. The flat back rear bench is ugly imho.

Don’t trust the hour meters, check compression. And for me the biggest tell regarding maintenance and how well it was done is the condition of the oil lines. If it’s get SBT engines then discount accordingly.

I think my friend is going to skip out on this. I showed him a speedster 200 430hp that was dramatically under priced at 11k (and in fact sold in days and was delisted by a dealer for 14k) and now he thinks he can haggle one of those to 10k. He's nuts, lol.

The FAQ has a link for NADA values for our boats....here is a screen shot of the 2003 AR210

If he finds one of those in good condition for 10K he killed it. They have come down in value a lot in the last 2 years or so it wasn't long ago you still couldn't touch the one with 430hp for under 20K but I think Scarab and Chaparral coming out with supercharged models has kind made the novelty of the 430hp model wear off a little bringing the pricing back to reality.
