Hi Guys

Figures! Just hooked up my trailer and no trailer lights. It is pitch black outside now and I was planing on leaving tomorrow morning. Any suggestions for what could be the problem?

Thanks

Never mind. When I shed a little "flashlight" on the problem the dreaded white ground wire was sheared UGH!! Thanks for wanting to help (I know your out there, I can feel you thinking!)

Check the ground wire...

Same thing happened to me. When it's ALL lights It's usually the ground.

My lights are all on but brake and blinkers don't work. Any thoughts on it before I dig into it tomorrow morning?

Could be the 2nd filament in the bulb if you have that style light.

Start by checking if the voltage is in the vehicle trailer plug with a multi meter.

try spraying all the contacts with silicone..... before you go poking around with a multi meter.....its worked for us! (But only because we had the meter ready....if we didn't have one handy I'm sure it wouldn't have worked! lol!

Did I miss something? He already figured out the problem...

Perhaps he needs to fix the sheared ground wire????:winkingthumbsup":spam::banhappy:

@jetboater4life , I have found that brake lights and blinkers are generally either the flasher unit or a fuse. There is more than one fuse for your lights, you will have running lights, and possibly both brake and turn signals.

Mine was dirty crushed contacts. Cleaned them and spread them back out and everything works again.

Good thing I purchased the LED light upgrade kit as I new this day was coming. Almost got everything wired back up. My heat shrink, crimp, and solder connectors are working pretty slick.

What's that in the background? Looks like an old Porsche or something else cool.

That would be the toy vehicle in my sig. A 1975 Silver Anniversary Edition 911s. Only 510 of them were made. I drive it to work now and then on sunny days. My kids call it the fast car.

I'm lovin my new LED lights. I didn't feel up to replacing them all. Did just the two main rear ones and they work great.
