That's happy new fins day! Thanks @Cobra Jet Steering LLC

Installation was simple. 15 minutes once you gather your tools together. Everything fit together perfectly.

I'll giver 'er the shakedown run o. Saturday. Hoping this will help the mrs enjoy driving a little. She can't get the hang of it stock.

looks good, hopefully it was not difficult to follow my instructions, I don't have one of those boats therefore I don't have an install video.
Perhaps sometime soon someone local will want to volunteer to let me use their boat for a video and some test runs.
I have been setting the tie rods at 12.25 inches center to center I believe that setting is right on the money however they are adjustable if needed.
I am also using stainless steel tie rod ends rather than aluminum so they should hold up very nicely over time.

Oh one more point of interest, the height of the nut on the nozzle acts as a reverse gate stop . So when you power up in reverse the bottom of the gate will rest on the nut and reduce the pull on the reverse cables. You may recall I usually add this to my steering units as a added benefit , even as far back as the older stainless units.

The instructions were perfect and easy to follow. The tie rod was set perfectly. The fit is nice and tight to the nozzles. Definitely a solid assembly and dead easy to install. Thanks again Jeff!

Hey McMark, just wondering how you like your Cobra AK steering system. We have a trip coming up and I would like your all around input. We love our boat but the slow speed manuvers are a bit tricky.

It's been so rainy here that I've only had one outing with the fins. Love the fact that both cables share the load of the keel now.

Here's a quick update on the fins. Because I'm neurotic, I did a little experiment today. I took the fins off and headed down to the river. Hmmmm, seems a little more sluggish in the turns and during slow speed running. Also high speed seemed a little less connected as best that I can remember from the 4th of July. Spent about an hour running around. Then I pulled the boat and put the fins back on. I basically wanted to make sure the fins weren't giving me a placebo effect. The fins definitely help both at low speed and high speed. Highly recommended. Thanks Jeff @Cobra Jet Steering LLC

Wow...you took some time to do that test! If I'd gone to that length I would have come up with an empirical test....like how long the boat takes to do a 360 with and without fins at the exact same RPM (like no wake mode).

Lol. I didn't need to go that far. They go on and off pretty quickly. 10 minutes or so. I wanted to make sure I wasn't giving a honeymoon review. The 180 is quicker with the fins. How much quicker? Not sure, but it is quicker.
