Great news! I had wondered if I was seeing anti seize on the plug but it didn't make sense. Sorry to get you worried! Cheers!

Grease? I put anti-seize on the new ones going in. Is that what u are asking?

Sorry, I was in a rush....you have most of what you need to service the boat except grease. Have you purchased grease yet?

There have been a few threads discussing the different greases used and the grease Yamaha recommends be used:

https://jetboaters.net/threads/10-hr-service-how-much-grease-for-the-bearing-housing.2066/page-2

Instead of Yamalube I went with:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GDGALHW/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Same as Yamalube, but a bit cheaper

I was reading through this thread to get the spark plug part number before I place an order (got it and thank you) and I see the discussion on grease. My dealer tells me I can use the same grease I've been using on the bearing buddies on the trailer for the intermediate bearing. Do you guys seen any problem with that? He told me it doesn't really matter what grease is used as long as it's high temperature.

So, while the LFR6A's are supposed to come pre-gaped. . . . does anyone happen to know what that gap is?

Service manual says 0.8-0.9mm for the 1.8L.

Wow, no shit huh . . . .

Just installed with Anti Sieze, now what?

Plenty of people will argue that you should use antiseize since it's an aluminium block ....

They are probably correct from a scientific approach. Use it and don't worry about it!

Considering the motors haven't changed. . . . . I'm going with yes.

From my understanding the grease isn't lubricating anything. Its keeping the seal packed full of grease to keep it water tight? Am I wrong?

Did you ever get a confirmed answer on this? I'm trying to order plugs, oil and filters for my 2016 242LSE now.

LFR6A - is THE PLUG you'll need.
(for all N/A 1.8s)

Filters and oil - there is a gazillion options.
Mobile 1 (M1-102) is a filter many use, I like Amsoil filters as they are massively built/very sturdy. Etc etc.

@swatski yeah I'm going with the Amsoil filter (EA15K51) as well. I have the preferred customer discount so its a dollar cheaper than a K&N is at AdvanceAuto. Be careful with that "LFR6A" part number there are a couple different ones, the 6668 is the one needed (that statement is not for you since I know you know, but for others who see this in the future).

Yeah, good catch. I forgot they have those -11 (LFR6A-11) - NOT the correct plug!
