I spent 2 hours cleaning the outside of my boat today. It feels great to look at a nice clean hull! I got the boat in July and have spot cleaned the sidesn, but this time I crawled under and got it all.

Wow was the bottom dirty.....

:) Yes I got out the canopy for shade; it made a huge difference in temp.

Looks great. How did you like the Gel formula? I used the liquid with a brush on a stick and it seemed to work well and took me about an hour or so (I just did the white part of the hull).

I left my boat in the water from May - Sept for the first time this year and only pressure washed when I pulled for fuel. There was still sever discoloration, but could not believe how easy it came off with this stuff.

The gel formula was great though I have not used the liquid version. This stuff held to the hull very well so I could do very large areas and it even held to the bottom.

I went the hard way and used a couple rags and the spray bottle. after I washed the boat with my normal brush on a stick and boat soap. I must admit I got lazy and did not dry it - that said there where not many water spots and I came back later and got them with a lightly damp rag on the blue part.

tomorrow I do the windows and the vinyl.

then I get it dirty this weekend and start all over..... :) I must admit I envoy cleaning the boat more than I ever liked cleaning my cars....

I did the same to my hull about a week ago. Hard work pays off! I agree about enjoying boat cleaning more than cars. Couple hours on the boat is not too bad at all as the end results are awesome!

Do you have to rinse it off afterwards? Thinking of doing this where I store my boat but I do not have access to water there.

The liquid version I used said it needed to be thoroughly rinsed by water (which I did when I finished each section I did)

That looks great! I'll have to try that product. This year my boat has sat in a slip since May. It is disgusting on the bottom but great above the waterline. I used Slimy Grimy in a pump sprayer last year with great results. Another week or two and it will be time to clean it up for the winter.

Waxing will protect your cleaning. I always wax after a good hull cleaning. I extend the period between cleanings by doing so.

Looks awesome. And at a low cost as well.

I paid $100 to have the marina do it. So much better than it was while sitting in the slip all season. The benefits of keeping it in the water is great, but it has its drawbacks. Mainly the nasty stuff that accumulates on the underbelly of the boat.

I may try the stuff that you used next year. Thx for sharing.

x100 what @OperationROL said. Waxing is critical.
Those oxalic acid cleaners do work wonders, but also open up micropores. Must wax that hull before returning to water, or it gets dirty again real fast.
