My stereo headunit passed away quite suddenly last weekend out on the water. RIP ...

Yesterday I received the new headunit, remote and amp from Crutchfield...

Installed today.

Swapped the panels from where the factory headunit was with the no wake mode panel...I like how I I can just glance down now and see the radio screen.

My question is...I made a piece for the new headunit out of 3/8" plexiglass and wrapped with carbon fiber looking vinyl. I'm only about 50% happy with this...any other ideas on how to make/buy this panel to make it look more appealing/flow with the rest of the dash?

@Bruce I'm not thrilled with the overall look of the plate and am not sure it's going to hold up. The vinyl work alone seems sketchy at best. Not my best work and I'm sure I rushed the job trying to get done.

I like the look of the plate @JetBoatPilot made for you (I see its now available on his site) but I need for it to be a blank slate since the Rockford headunit is only a 3" diameter opening. I'd purchase the (
https://jetboatpilot.com/index.php?id_product=939&controller=product) but it won't work for what I need.

Ideas?

Call Will with dimensions. That is what I did for my plate. I believe they cut it out on one of their CNC machines. It cost perhaps 50% more than the packaged product but I had it in a few days and it fit perfectly. I believe you will want a larger plate for that opening anyway. If it is the same size a blank plate is easier for him to make.

@Bruce thanks for the replies. I'll work on those measurements this week. Up here is supposed to be rainy so it'll be a few days...

By the way, while I'm thinking about it-I swear I saw a thread that someone had swapped the radio position. Do you recall seeing that? I can't seem to find it...

@MrWizard I see you have our location in your signature....cool....if you add it to your Personal Details you will also appear automatically on the member map.

Bet your be delighted with @JetBoatPilot 's plate!

@Julian I just now noticed the name of your boat...! I like it, as I've decided to finally give mine a name...Liquid Therapy. Too close to yours??

I first saw the radio & no wake switch swap on this boat that is for sale, https://jetboaters.net/threads/2007-ar-230-23-800-fl.9110/#post-156167 , I think the picture of the swap is in the second set of posted pictures.

@rmk600 any advice on material to make the custom dash component for the radio install? I just saw your classified thread, nice looking boat! I wouldn't think you'd have a problem with selling her...good luck though!

I always said that plagiarism is the highest form of flattery! And at the time I named my boat Hydrotherapy was one of the most popular names! If I'd had room I was considering getting a custom name done with Hydro Therapy with the word JET creatively squeezed in between them...but ended up going the simple route. So I have NO issues with you using Hydrotherapy or Liquid Therapy etc!

We can do something like that custom. If it is a one off part I think it will be $50 plus shipping. If it proves to be something that we will sell lots of then it could be $30.

@JetBoatPilot I doubt I'll start a trend ...but how soon could this be accomplished and what would you need from me, besides my VISA # (Should already be on file)...

We would need specific dimensions and thickness desired.

I think I actually called Will, Jet Boat Pilot, when I was making mine! LOL. Think it's call MDF?? Correct me if I'm wrong. I can get dimensions tmrw. And I hope you're right. I want a E-Series!

If you could wrangle up the dimensions tomorrow that would be so much awesome sauce. I'd appreciate the help.

@MrWizard Darn it that is the name (liquid therapy) that is being embriodered into my lower swim deck cushions. My wife and call our regular night cap our liquid therapy so we thought it was fitting. I was waiting to unveil in photos when we pickup the boat.

Looks like we're in the same boat. Hehe

I just ordered the vinyl today from boatus.com...

I say...you're in Maine. I'm in Pa. I'll drink to your families ritual and godspeed to your vessel.
