New ar210 leaking!

I wonder if this is the cause of excessive water I seem to get but not on a consistent basis. I will look at mine this spring. Thanks to all who responded here

The dealership got back to me today.
They said the hull was full of water, in every compartment and they'd have to put the boat on a big angle to drain what they could out and DRILL a hole in the floor of the boat and shop vac out from that compartment. And of course finish the anchor locker drain. This means at least another week without a boat, I've had the thing for 5 weeks, they'll end up having the thing 1/3 of the time that I have.

I'll be speaking to Yamaha tomorrow.... I'm not happy with this boat and am not confident that there aren't more hidden issues. Not to mention issues that may be accelerated due to salt water being leaked everywhere in the boat.

Whow you sound frustrated i know how you feel just purchace and 1 week in the dealer , i hope they can make it right for you this boats are not cheap we pay alot of money for them and we expect to have them in good conditions.

Sorry, but that does not sound right... If the boat is tilted (with the bow up) and all internal plugs between compartments are removed, the water should drain. All the water. I routinely prop the trailer jack up as much as a foot to accomplish that.

EDIT: These boats all leak, one way or the other, and get water in bilges. If we had to drill holes in the hull anytime we want to drain it we would be in big trouble.

Agreed. my boat sits at a pretty good angle on the lift and it didn't drain all of the water . I could still see water in between the hole in the anchor locker. it sounds like there are some compartments that don't have a drain to the back of the boat?

Considering "sub" moves commonly performed in previous models with zero ill effects, this is just not expected.
The FSH guys seem to struggle with hull drainage issues big time, there may be some commonalities. BUT -- YOU HAVE GOT A NEW BOAT for goodness sake! I don't think you want to start using it by troubleshooting a major issue.

And, unfortunately, this is a brand new hull that has not been out for even a year, limiting advise from the forum.

That may be it. it was a lot worse when I had people on the bow. when it was just my wife and I we had a lot less.

The more weight you put on the front the worse it's going to get because you will get the anchor looker drain under water and the more people you have on the front the more presure water will come in to the haul

I agree 100% Here im adding Silicon tho the anchor locker like this is a 20 year old boat . $30000. Is alot of money to have to put up with water issues, this is the boat that is supposed to keep the water out not inside your boat.

I took a quick look at the Yamaha parts website, and it looks like all current (and older) models use the same drain assembly, F2D-U2290-00-00, for the locker drain. Mine is missing the inner flange, just like @OUT ON THE REEF shows in his video. So far, we know of this problem on a 210, FSH, and on my 240. You might want to check that your anchor locker/bow drain is properly assembled.
For reference, @Ilmmct sent me a pic of the drain from his 2013 242 LS (same part number), so this is what it should look like (flange sealed to inner hull) from the inside of the anchor locker:

They "fixed" mine. the picture doesn't even do it justice. The Silicon is pulling away from the flange in some spots and the hull in others.

Mine never made it that far, it didn't have a tube at all.

This last summer, it seemed like it was gradually getting worse.
I've checked all my hoses and nothing. Filled my bilge with the garden hose - again nothing.
I've been suspicious of that anchor drain. This spring when she comes home from storage, I'll have to inspect this locker more thoroughly.

So the salt water goes all the way to the bilge and it doesn't have a anchor looker drain?

It has a drain in the bottom. It just doesn't go out under the bow/hull like your boat does. It may just go straight to the bilge or where the ski locker drains but I've never filled it to find out where it goes next. I shined a light in the drain and I can see red fiberglass. Thankfully my boat stays pretty dry and I've never had water in my anchor locker even with taking a shot over the bow once. Keep in mind the anchor locker on a 19' boat is not on the leading part of the bow like the rest of the boats and instead it's under the front bow seat, so I'm guessing that's why there is no plug or tube to drain thru the outside hull.

Thats why the engineers didn't put a drain there, so all the water that comes with the rope hast to go down the bilge.
That is not the best design for a anchor looker.
Im sure Yamaha is Reading this problems we are having in this Forum and hopefully they can come out with a better solution with water entering the haul of all of their models in difrent ways.
Is a shame Yamaha is a great product and to start having this reputation with leaks

This being my first boat I'm not familiar with how other boats drain their bow anchor locker. Do all of them use a tube thru hull like your boat and other Yamahas or do they use an integrated drain system where everything flows to the bilge like on my boat? To be honest I've never noticed the eyelet you guys have until this thread. With my anchor locker being lower and closer to the ski locker I have to imagine mine is below the water line while resting in the water if not very close to it, so a tube or drain thru hull wouldn't work for my boat as I would just take on water sitting still. I guess one positive with that design is I don't have to worry about waves rushing up into my anchor locker. If I take a wave over the bow the water should naturally flow thru the channels Yamaha made under the seats which all drains to my ski locker from the front which then drains to the bilge I believe.

When I pull my boat out and remove h hull drain plugs I never have water come out. I can see a little bit of water in the hole cut under the bilge pump but my bilge rarely ever runs because water isn't excessive in my boat.
