One picture of your last outing.

Sounds like it was rented out and had been getting lower in the water since it was picked up on Sunday. The marina mentioned offhand during the ordeal that the boat had "issues" previously.

Marina staff arrived on site and then they asked me to tow the boat to a local launch. I said that I did not feel comfortable with that request, considering there was no risk to life or limb and that they should have the capacity to manage their fleet.

Good call. Towing a sinking craft is a good way to find your boat sunk as well...

Our first time as well. Ute is pretty much full, and the Butte is a shadow of its former self, so we decided to go East. Yeah, lack of beaches is a definite limiting factor, although we did find a place to set up a shore station just south of the dam (bring a rake, as there is a lot of debris on the beach). Clean water, warm, not very busy.

guess you are done with the Butte. I have never been out to Ute. I hear its a really nice lake. Not many beaches though. Looks like the boys had a great time.

Kind of far for a day trip. What did it take you to get there, about 3.5 hours?
My boat is in Havasu right now. When I bring it back in the fall maybe we could meet up at Ute.

Closer to 3. The boys were "freestyle beat boxing/rapping" the whole ride, so it seemed longer though!

Right now Bluewater is the closest open wake lake, and that's 2.5 hours, and a lot smaller and colder water (edit: Eagle Nest lake is a little closer, but still smaller and colder)

Sure, that would be great. We will most likely be heading out again, and potentially in the fall. I will try to remember to PM you.

Chance of rain yesterday but we went anyways, glad we did, cloudy at the start and then sunny the last few hours. As you can tell PJ loves to jump off the back, and we love that we don’t have to worry about a prop back there.

An evening Sunset cruise setting over Northern New York.

Awesome.. just awesome. I’ve been on the old girl several times. Those ships were so far ahead of their time, and are still awesome. 50,000 horsepower on each of her four screw’s, and could carry enough fuel to circumnavigate the earth. Fun fact, no ship escorted by an Iowa class battleship was ever sunk.

Pretty full day on the lake…. Got on the lake around 830 and made a couple of passes with down riggers fishing for lake trout before picking up my friends at the dock around 10. The boy had a new RC boat to test out which was a hoot! Some swimming, then lunch, then drug big Mable around with the kids on it. Dropped them at the dock around 2 and went searching for crappie. Didn’t find any crappie but caught two decent size pike on a pretty light rig which was fun! Most of the smoke cleared out by the afternoon noon and the sun got pretty intense….went to my favorite cove and went swimming. Hit a Mexican joint on the way home for dinner and rolled up to the house around dark.

Glassy conditions first thing in the morning. ?

After picking up my friends…hard to tell but the skies are clearing.

Big Mable worked much better after I pumped it up stiffer.

This one had the hook a little deep, it kept biting the needle nose I was using to get the hook out, you would not want to get any fingers in there! This one and the second both went back with out drama..

A couple shots from my WaveRunner in Ocean City, Maryland. I spent a good while on this custom 3D printed chartplotter mount and it didn’t disappoint, nor did it go unused in this difficult to navigate waterway. The first shot is the boardwalk as seen from the ocean near the inlet. I lasted about 5-7 minutes in the ocean and felt like I was floating on a toothpick.

Glad you had a bridge to take shelter under! In this pic I just got the edge of this cell… rained super hard for about a hour then it was all sunny again.
