Happy Cinco De Mayo!
1st time boat owner here. Picking her up tomorrow. oh baby
Excited and Nervous at the same time.

Is it normal to feel like I want to sleep on it the first night?
Or at a minimum just sit in it for hours and hours, while parked in my drive way... just taking it all in... imagining what's to come...

Congrats! Best time of our lives! Enjoy!

Congratulations and it's ALL GOOD. You have that new boat smell, everything is pristine and shiny and it's just waiting to hit the water. You can taste it, I know, been there. Hell I'm going go jump in mine now it's got me all boat-thinking about the weekend.

Congrats and can’t wait to see the pix!

@ShowMeYourJets, hell yea it’s normal to think that way… you do you man! Sleep on it, hang out on it whatever makes ya smile.

heck, my wife and I sat out on ours one night after cleaning it and had a date night it seemed. Coupe of drinks, radio on and we just hung out and talked for hours. Didn’t realize it was 1am. Right there hangin on the boat….in the driveway ?

Congrats. Enjoy it. Take your time at the dealer and ask all the stupid questions you think you should. You’re about to drop a lot of change and your dealer will be happy to anwser questions.

Don’t forget to make a check list prior to taking boat to the ramp for the first time. Make sure you put the drain plugs in the back of the boat. We pulled up to our local ramp 2 weeks ago. First time a guy had his new SeaRay bow rider out. Trying to launch it. Had the bildge going full blast. Engine compartment filled with water. He sank his new boat on the trailer cause he forgot his drain plugs and didn’t realize it until we pulled up and hollered at him to pull the boat off the ramp.

Enjoy it. Take it slow and don’t feel rushed at the ramp. People would rather wait on you then see you sink your boat or your truck.

Use your parking brake on the ramp. If I have to get out of my truck on the ramp, I always set my parking brake, then take my feet off pedals and count for three seconds prior to exiting my truck.

Like others have said, send pics.

Congrats!

Go to the faq and look for the check list of picking up a new boat.

And this one is important as well. https://jetboaters.net/threads/⛵⚓⛴✔-new-boat-owner-read-this-before-you-go-out-⛵⚓⛴✔.35280/

Enjoy your new boat!

dam about the SeaRay's drain plug.
I've been dreaming about the boat the last few nights... and the drain plug has been in my dreams.
My sub conscience planting those seeds to never forget the plug!

Haven't figured out the exact plan yet... but I plan to do something related to the key and the plug, to serve as a forced way to not forget.

thanks a bunch. Sounds like great advice!

I'll be sure to post some pics.

love it

@ShowMeYourJets Get a can of name brand silicone spray from your auto parts store (3in1, wd40 not the generic house brands) and use it to lube your drain plugs and clean out plugs. Spray them once a week around the rubber rings to keep them supple and water tight. I also use it to spray down all the rubber and plastic parts on the jet pumps as they're under water. I also use white lithium spray on the linkages and articulating keel link and hinge once a month.

For the transom drain plug reminder, I spray it Friday niight as a prep for the weekend and put it in the drain. Same goes for the others and the clean out plugs. That way they're all in before I leave the driveway and ready to launch. If it's going to be a stormy weekend and we're not going out, I still spray all the plugs Friday night but leave them out.

Wellllll….. did you sleep on it last night ???

Beautiful boat man. Great grab. Lots of guys here in GA. If ya need any help with anything I’m sure you’ll have no problem finding it.

I had to do the same thing when I bought mine.. I was white nuckling it all the way till I got home…my boat was a lot bigger when you look at it through the rear view mirror!

I’m down on the south side. Lots up north.

congrats man ????

Congratulations!!! Enjoy it! We sit in ours dreaming and its been years. You will love it, welcome to the addiction.

Didn’t sleep on it last night… maybe tonight. It got cold and was raining. Was still out there past midnight though. Then back on it this morning about 8am! Maiden Voyage will be tomorrow
