I am thinking of replacing the carpet on my 2014 242 limited s. I don't have a seadek dealer near me Louisville Ky. I do have a guy who sells and installs reflex. I have done the research on the product and it looks really good. Quoted a price to do the whole boat including swimming platform is $2300 for seamless 6mm, or $2700 for seamless 8mm. How does this compare to seadek, and who has used reflex?

Sounds like over double the cost of Seadek, from what I understand.

JetBoatPilot is active here and offers Seadek pre-cut for your model. Looks to be about half the price of what you were quoted for the other brand.

There will be a forum group buy around September that could be as much as 30% off. I plan on purchasing a set for my boat during the group buy.

i don't know anything about Reflex but you can easily spend $2,300 on SeaDek for your boat. if your guy is removing existing Hydromat and carpet snaps and installing everything for that amount... doesn't sound overpriced to me at all. unless Reflex is crap, of course.

I'd ask the guy who the underlying manufacture is. It seems almost all of the EVA/PVA foam floors are from the same couple of manufacturers and just cut and labeled with said "brand".

Is that an installed price? As other have pointed out, Seadek from @JetBoatPilot would be:

So about $1000 less. I don't know anything about Reflex, but I love my Seadek. I haven't bought the cockpit set yet, but once my carpet is done, that is what I'll replace it with. Standard Seadek is 5mm. There is also 10mm that is used for helm pads.

SeaDek is the market leader in terms of quality, color fastness, customer care, etc. Also when any customer buys from us we guarantee each pad for 3 years, some times offering to replace the pad well beyond the 3 year mark. All we ask is that the customer pay the shipping.

What if a section flies out of the boat while driving down the highway?

Likely an adhesive failure or an installation failure. Typically we replace no questions asked but ask that the customer pay shipping.

Thanks guys for the replies. JBP is a great company, I have absolutely no problem with the products I have purchased from them. I have decided to go with the local guy with the reflex, after researching the product. 8mm just felt great on my feet. Most of the problems I Have seen have been from self install. This guy does the install and it comes with 3 yr factory installed, plus my boat will be custom templated so I know there wont be any fitting problems. Reflexproducts.com will post pics when completed

Stirring the pot much? Will responded in that thread and is attempting to get to the bottom of it.
Nope, just trying to help. Look closer at the time stamps and you will see that I was the one who made Will aware of the other thread and the unhappy customer by posting the link and quote in this thread.

I stand corrected. My apologies.

Is this yearly? We wanted new flooring for our boat this year.

Yes we host this event in the fall to help keep our employees on the payroll during off season.

The price with installation is quite good. Especially if he is removing the old swim platform stuff.

Removal is done at $100 per hour but we have methods that reduces that time drastically.

I think I'd gladly pay $100/hr for that removal. I had to remove the entire swimdeck of my boat to put SeaDek there.

@biffdotorg can attest how shitty it was. But that's also because I was taking off BlackTip.
