I wished that I would have talked to a few more people or asked opinions on the difference between 19, 21 and 24ft boats. I love our 2015 AR192 but I think I need more room. I have only had the boat since Easter weekend, but we have taken it out almost every weekend weather permitting. The wife said last week that this was the best purchase we have ever made but I am regretting the size.

We had a couple with 2 small kids plus our 2 kids, ages 9 and 14 and it seemed cramped. I never realized how much of a difference 2 ft can make in the ride and area. I am at a loss...do I keep it and always want more, do I try to sell or trade it? I guess I will have to make up my mind soon.

They don't call it 2 foot'itis for nothing! LOL.

I don't think there is a cure... But yours seem so bad - I think you need a prompt 21-24ft treatment! ;)

I'm in a similar but different situation. I have a 21' and for now that seems like enough room. I simply didn't realize how not powerful it was going to be. With 2 people and nothing else I can get to about 45mph. This weekend I had 6 and 2 coolers. I could do maybe 37. I should have elected for a H/O model. Unfortunately I've dropped a significant chunk of coin adding the seadeck and major wetsounds audio upgrades. So I'll have to get used to a more cruising speed and not be first to the sand bar. :)

8 people in any of these boats is cramped you don't need a bigger boat just smaller friends. Or better yet friends with a bigger boat

take out less people and enjoy the boat you have... you'd take a big loss trying to trade it for a bigger boat... keep it a few years and then go for a big 24' if you are still using it frequently... lots of people get a boat and take it out all the time, then the newness of it wears off and it gets used less and less...

I'm in a similar position, I have had the 19' for a year and I feel like I could use a 24' boat. You know what, I am sure once you got used to the 24', you would look at something bigger (another brand)

Stick with it for 3 years and see where you are...

Have an SX190 and get what you are saying about being crowded with 8 on board. Some things we do to help it a little is to make sure all the gear, food, towels, tools etc are stowed under the seats. Put 3 kids up in the bow as conditions permit. Then not quite so bad. You are probably doing this already.

This helps some ....... Until the wage toys come out.

My consolation is that we have soooo much fun a little crowding is a decent trade off. Wish had a 21' boat but money, tow vehicle and garage space made the 19' the choice.

Only bring light beer onboard. Your boat will go faster. Really though, if the 192 is your first boat, that's not a bad way to learn. Use it for a couple of seasons than make the big leap to a 240.

I may have another option, I am trying to talk the wife into a Waverunner! She had a blast on one a few weeks ago and I think that will help. 2 people off the boat and hell...its a helluva good time.

Do you have two vehicles to take the waverunner? I love both but we need one other waverunner to enjoy. It's a long ride doing 2up for the passenger is my wife's complaint. After 2-3 hours riding she needs to stretch. But we both love it!

Yes, I have a 2010 Suburban and a 2009 Silverado. The wife will ride the waverunner most of the time. 20160424_095105.jpg 20160413_130624.jpg

I did this same thing when I bought my ski a few years ago. Not due to boat size as my other boat that I still have seats 12 and has a 5.0l V8 I/O engine but I always had to captain the boat and everyone else with me would be drinking and having a good time while I sat around as I didn't want to drink or anything being responsible for everyone else on the boat. So I got the ski thinking someone would tow the ski and ride it out to the island and then I could ride it around and play while they all had a good time then I would get one of them to load it and tow it back. Well this lasted all of two trips. What a PIA it was someone would tow to the ramp but then I would have to drop both in the water as no one wanted to back down the ramp then i would have to pull both and it even got to a point no one wanted to tow it or ride it period as they all really just wanted to sit on the boat and relax. I then bought a second ski and that was almost perfect! anytime there was just 3-4 of us I didn't even touch the boat we just grabbed the skis and went. I promise if you buy one ski you will be quickly on the path to two skis! Last your I used the skis 90% and the boat 10%. Somethings have changed life wise this year so I knew the skis where going to sit for a while as one of my crew wasn't going to be able to ride for a while so I sold one of them and will likely sell the other ski as well as I'm back to the original spot again and it will likely be 3-4 years before the ski gets used much but I promise at that point I will go back to having two skis as well. They are just so convenient and easy to use. Now if I could just bring myself to sell my old boat lol having two skis and two boats for the last year was a lot!

Can you believe that I hate black...
That's funny!
My first truck was a '69 Chevy short bed (still have it) I painted it blue, then I bought a black '85 Silverado, loved the truck but swore I'd never get another black vehicle, traded that in on a Black 4x4 Toyota, sold that and moved to England for a few years. Came back and bought a Black Ranger, traded that in '04 for a new Silverado, black, then traded that in for a black '09 Silverado.
My wife, well right before we got married, bought a black '04 Tahoe the same weekend I got my '04. We totaled that Tahoe last year, she wound up buying a black Nissan Quest.

We/I really don't go seek out black vehicles, it's just what Happened to be the color of the vehicles we were looking for at the time, I really wanted a blue truck when I got my '09 but told the dealer that color really didn't matter to me as long as it had all the options I wanted, they finally found exactly what I was looking for a few hundred miles away, just happened to be black.

Take the hit and do it :D.

My 190 lasted one season but as mentioned even a 24' can feel crowded. Wifey and I love it when its just us two, loads of room but get this, while we were on our own we got talking about buying a cruiser  get that!! :D.

Talked to the Wife and we both decided to wait till next season. I recently got promoted and that means I could get orders pretty quick. I would hate to get a newer boat and get order to Korea or Europe and the boat sit for 3 years.

Britboater - did you trade in the 190 after one season? How much did you lose on that deal?

I hemmed and hawed over the 21' v.s the 24' . . . . But once I took delivery and saw the boat in the water I knew the 24' was the right choice (boats shrink in water). Personally, I would trade up if I were in your shoes. Put the jet-ski money towards a bigger boat. = )
