30 minutes north of Reno and 4 hours away from home and this happens.
I was in the passenger seat when I thought we hit a wake up / vibration strip on the freeway. I look into the rear view mirror and took a few seconds to realize that the black stripe next to the trailer was the right rear tire rolling next to the trailer at freeway speeds. I let my brother know and he pulled over immediately. The trailer tire rolled into the ditch off the shoulder before it passed us in the tow vehicle and bounced back onto the shoulder in front of us. Luckily another motorist was there to keep it from rolling back onto the freeway. No one got hurt. It’s a rental trailer so we are just waiting for uhaul to pick it up. We had the gear and knowledge to get back on the road without help but it wasn’t my call.

I’ve never had trailer problems like this in 25 years or so of boating now I’ve experienced this twice in 2.5 months.

We have seen some pretty nice weather so far this Fall, nothing like the Midwest. 20191029_150638.jpgWent out to the Marina/Boat yesterday to do the winterizing on the water/head systems and then take the batteries out before the cover gets put on.20191029_150729.jpg Beautiful afternoon on the boat and my wife even got some business done from the cockpit. Our version of driveway boating.

Overnight storms dumped more rain than we have seen since I put this culvert in, in 1995. The weekend work schedule just changed.

Our Halloween night.

Woke up to this on Thursday morning:

It snowed all day. We got about 3". One of the guys that lives West of us said he measured 6". Here's the back yard when I got home:

My leaves had only partially fallen so we haven't even raked yet.

I always put the Turkey up on November 1st. Last night was the first time I had to move snow in order to do so.

Might be time to add a second?

Just fill it back in but cap it with cement that way next time it overflows it won’t wash away. Why do you wanna put a whole Nother one in for a once every 20 year rainstorm

I would like to pull out that 4' dia. steel culvert and replace it with a larger volume concrete box culvert. This is the third time water has gone over our driveway since 1995. This time was the worst, we lost 5' of fill from the 20' culvert. Living on a Hardscrabble Farm has it's pro's and con's. One of the pro's is having a source of stone of different sizes to pick from to throw into the hole. Plenty of stone windrows to pick from right along the driveway so I don't rut the place up with the tractor after 4" of rain overnight.

A couple of hours later, I am done by 1pm.

Sidebar, this place grows stone. The first crop we pick after prepping the soil for Spring planting is stone. All the stones for our 3-sided hearth and 40' chimney were picked from the same windrows 18 years ago. 2-sides here, the 3rd is in the master bedroom.
Please pardon the clutter in the farmhouse. Most is boat clutter not put away yet.

The 3rd floor balcony is still "under construction".

She said all the instruments work as designed (e.g. accelerometer, altimeter, compass), also attached are pics of the exterior air outlets used to air up their tires after the trail crawling is done.
