Sticky gooey edge on my table top....anyone else?

I have some fallen limbs and trees I have to get out of the yard. Went to do it and my Stihl 026 wouldn't start. I didn't have time to fool with it this year so I dropped it off. Was a little shocked when the called me and told me the cylinder was scored as well as the piston, suggesting a lack of oil. It gets oil mixed gas, so that isn't likely but I need and and a new saw of the similar model is over $600!!! So I said fix it. And as you know, I have about 50 mods in line on the list and not sure, even if I decided to put a grill on the boat, where it would fit in the batting order! Besides, I have buddies with a grill on their boat if I need to grill something:cigar:

Must be a monster nice chainsaw to spend that kind of money repairing it! Jealous.
I love brussel sprouts! Never thought of grilling them...would think they'd be a pain between the grill slats...
And only the older 03-06 boats have these tables with trim edge....

Not a monster, just a 16" bar, but it is a Stihl...and they are anything but cheap, but nice is an understatement. It has at least 1000 trees through it, I have 5 blades and keep them sharp, and still have probably replaced all 5 of them when they wore out. It is also 12 or 13 years old. It is worthy of repair, they are well made tools. But...everything has components that wear. If it were a Riobi or an Echo...you would just throw it away and buy another one. But with the amount of use and age, I would have had 10 echoes by now! Even at 13 years old, I new I had an issue when it didn't start by the second pull.

@Julian my table looks to be the same as yours but minus any edge trim.
