Guys, while I was cleaning the bilge by hand from lose debris, I found this part laying there inside the hatch (behind the drain plug). It looks important, like a part that’s meant to seal something. Any of you recognize it?

since you have a 2019 boat the knowledge may be limited,
you may try searching a parts diagram from yamahasportsplaza or similar,

my guess would be some sort of ice chest/cooler ??

Earlier boats had threaded plugs to separate/isolate compartments within the boat from water,

It's not threaded so it's not meant to be very secure or hold much pressure,

I'd also be concerned about that black strap in the last picture, is it supposed to be crooked or did you slide it to the side while cleaning?

.

Tks for the reply, the strap was like that, seems pretty tight. I can try to straighten it.
The cap I found is a mistery, i’ve looked trhough all the parts diagram and can’t find anything close. I’m just concerned it may be important in terms of securing compartments from water. It does have a rubber o-ring around it.

I found the same piece in my 2018 242x, also in the bilge. I haven’t figured it out either.

do you have ballast bags or tanks, if it's a tank, maybe it's an access plug,

what about your wet storage areas or cleanout hatch, maybe it's a plug to stop one of those drain lines?

just brainstorming since it has a loop on the top like a line or chain to be attached to easily pull it out?

Those were y thoughts, but the ballast bags seem to be linked up propperly, the yamaha diagram does not show any part like this in the ballast system. Really strange

If you found one too, then it’s definitely a part that belongs in the boat... I was beginning to think that the tech that did my last service may had dropped it from a personal cooler or something and didn’t care to look for it 😂
Just hope is something that won’t put the boat in danger.

Looks about the diameter of a stock transducer but no idea what for in that respect. Perhaps the fuel tank gets shipped to them with a plug and that one ended up in the bilge instead of the trash at the factory.

I would not lose sleep over it.

Looks like a “ Shipping cap” for a factory part that was installed and the cap was dropped.

I swear I've seen that same part posted in here. Tried to search for it but no dice as there is a ton of threads to sift through. /

Yeah others have found that same part in the bilge of new boats. Best guesses I’ve seen offered is a shipping cover to some part or material that was installed or used for installation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
