Very cool. Seems like this would be a good aftermarket addition for our boats. I'll take a pair.

I wonder if you forget to bring them in, if the can double as hydroplanes?

That was the first thing my wife said! "What happens when you take off and leave them in?"

Rooster tail?
They pop out and sink?
Surfing wake wedges? @swatski
They fill up and bounce making lots of noise so you go remove them?
Boat won't go into drive and throws and error message on the Connext Screen "Remove rear swim seats you moron!"

Guess we'll find out?

I predict those seats will be littering the bottoms of lakes across the nation as people will forget to "stow" before they "go"! LOL! As many times as I've left my ladder down........ Cool concept though!

Yamaha's so paranoid about body cavity jet flushing, I bet there's another set of engine cutoff switches to deal with in these contraptions!

Since the seats are positioned in front of the jet pumps, I wonder if the Vaginal Warning labels will be placed in front of each seat on the deck now. Damn more sticker removal requirements.

My mind is working. Just need fewer sharp edges and a seat.

And this is $16 shipped Amazon Prime. I just need to use shorter bolts that I can reach inside to get a nut on.

We can save space in the head by implementing a bumper dumber instead. Ok, I am off track now. Concentrate

Their receiver is a little longer....likely to spread the load out more. There will be a lot of stress on that bracket....especially if Jabba sits on it. Perhaps 2 of those brackets in line (but lining them up would be a PITA).

Some pieces of square aluminum tubing would work great....I’d probably use the seats as a step more than sitting on.

All of the parts will need to be aluminum, 316 ss, or non-metallic corrosion resistant. The receiver will be permanently mounted to the bottom of the boat and the rest will be stored inside the boat when not in use. It would suck to have rust all over. It appears as though Yamaha used a custom aluminum extrusion or some type of receiver meant for 80/20 that I have not seen before. Perhaps a 80/20 stanchion slide bearing or a transition T could be used along with the 80/20 with nylon caps. That could certainly be a bolt together option. I am going to try my off the shelf idea and if that does not work than I just might just have to buy the tig welder I really want to build these and my own e-series type bimini frame. I have been looking for an excuse besides the bimini frame.

A local welder/machinest could easily build this out of square tube aluminum. Just concave press the flats on end to fit into itself.

Using a regular toilet seat lid would certainly be a conversation starter but cutting starboard is not that hard.

If yamaha sold those separately as an add on accessory they would sell a lot.
Or, better yet, someone smart (wink, wink) adapt those to use with surf plates/boosters of some kind...

These are pretty cool for sure!

You have to give it to Yamaha!

It is the new millennium.

First, they patent a rudder (ahem, Articulating Keel)
And now they patent a... stool! (I mean, swim up Stearn SeatingTM)

The bracket seems simple to make. Be nice to find an off the shelf seat that could be repurposed...

But looking at that pic it wouldn’t be hard to make a mold.
