Wisconsin out-and-about thread

My Garmin is on the fritz so we stayed with places that we’re familiar with and went north to Waverly Beach. There’s a fair amount of May flies floating around but the water was as clear as I’ve seen it. Water temp seemed a bit warmer than yesterday and tomorrow looks like another great day. I can’t remember three really good days in a row like this in a long time - even in July/August.

Gonna be out tomorrow - most likely Lake Winneconne/Lake Poygan. Thinking about checking out Clark’s Point.

Looking forward to finally getting out, hope we catch up with you guys on the water

Saturday looks awesome - 80 and light wind - so we will be out. The admiral has to work on Sunday so I think Saturday will be it.

Figured out the issue with my Garmin so we may try Clark’s Point but the Sand Pit and Streich’s are options as well.

Stupid wedding is screwing up lake plans for tomorrow and Sunday but we will be out on Monday and Tuesday. I'm guessing the Sand Pit or Streich's based on the wind forecast - looks hot!!!

OK you weenies…….who is gonna be out and about over the extended 4th of July holiday weekend?

Looks like the 4th and 6th for sure for us. Low winds on the 4th could trigger a run down to Sunset on The Water in Fond du Lac and then relaxing off the beach at Roosevelt Park.

The admiral is spending the day with her sister on the 6th so it looks like a couple of high school friends will be coming out with me. Wind will determine where we go so no destination as of yet.

Thursday and Saturday look like only boating days for the four day weekend... we'll be up nort' on Solberg Lake if anyone's in the area.

Today turned out to be a dud. Mostly cloudy and rain popping up in the early afternoon. Not much more than drops and light drizzle but not worth staying out.

Saturday looks pretty good - I’ve got my fingers crossed…….

This weekend looks like it’s gonna be fantastic - both days are gonna be low 80’s, sunny, and light winds.

We rented a slip in Fremont and got a room at the Cobblestone Inn for Saturday night and hope to have a cocktail with @drewkaree and his crew.

Weather forecast isn't as nice as it was earlier in the week but we're heading to Fremont tomorrow and staying at the Cobblestone Inn (Hotel Fremont was full) and hope to meet up with @drewkaree and his crew.

We indeed were out on Lake Wisconsin yesterday, went up the river a little ways. And @midwest22 was there as well!

@SCP1 @OB WI

Man, that looks great!!

Do all of you have keel guards? That's one thing that I've not gotten for my boat..........

I don’t have one on my new boat yet, but I will put one on.

How far up the river is this spot? Past the highway? I have never tried going past the first sandbar which is currently mostly underwater
Not past the interstate, this is maybe a half mile or so past the first sandbars.

I have one on mine. Was a bit time consuming to stick on, but for sure worth it.

Sandbar Bash on Lake Winnecone this Saturday for those the are interested.

Looks like it will be me, @drewkaree @Brad460 and @FSH 210 Sport for sure. The current plan is to anchor west of the barge/stage outside of the raft-up lines. If the weather forecast holds it’s gonna be perfect - I hope others will be able to attend.

From the north shore of Lake Poygan…. I keep thinking I’m going to see Jack Lemon, Walter Matthau or Anne Margaret come walking down the street….

Fremont is how I expected it, small, quaint and inviting. I just missed the WebbFooters water show last night on the river. I had dinner at the Bridge Bar and restaurant. I drove up last night as opposed to boating up.

Trip is going good so far. Drivers side front axle wheel bearing seal is leaking, may have to replace that tomorrow, had to fix that seal three years ago and not a bit of a leak since but, 2000 miles on the highway in high heat will flush out any weak bearing seals.
