Just wondering: I have a 195S and in back of the boat where the clean out plug is I saw a yellow plug that is made of plastic. I was wondering what it is for. Thanksthumbnail.jpeg

Any chance you could send another pic of the entire hatch floor? I’m interested in where that plug is located. Also, I’m assuming it’s not a drain plug, right? Thanks!

Yeah....more photos....and a wide shot of the location! Looks like a gorilla with a hammer put that in!!! WTF

Here are two more pics. To the right of the cleanout hole there is a hatch cover. If you remove the cover and look inside to the right you will see the plug. The plug is hard to see in the 2nd pic but you can make out something that is yellow.

Thanks for the extra pics. I can't help you here. I originally thought that it was in the hatch flooring, but I see now it's below that. That's good find though. Could be a mistake/repair when being manufactured. Hopefully someone can tell you if it's something to be concerned about.

I wonder if Yamaha is injecting foam in their hulls instead of putting in foam blocks. The foam acts like an adhesive between the outer hull and interior, when it expands it will fill a lot of crevasses. This will also help quiet the boat. In a previous job I engineered the foaming system that Boston Whaler uses in their boats

I'd appreciate anyone seeing this thread to look to see if they have this plug too. It came our really easily. Ill take another look today and shine a light in the hole when I pull this little plug that comes out really easily.

When I pulled my cleanout tray, mine was just laying down in the bilge, freely moving around and not hammered in anywhere. No idea where it originally came from, but I added it to the collection of garbage the assemblers left behind while building my boat.

Probably a triple-purpose - sound deadening, structural support, and flotation assistance, all in one. I read here before that Yamaha doesn't use foam in their boats because they're cheap, but I found spray foam behind my swim platform speakers when re-wiring them and didn't clue in at the time. Seems Yamaha makes small improvements year over year...like disc brakes on both axles now, nice aluminum rims, etc.

Wow...that's not much...I had a lot more shavings and bits of fiberglass, a couple washers, screws, etc. No biggie...flushed it all out and now it's clean in there.

No, that's in ADDITION to the crap below, and all the other crap like you've gotten, over the last two years of ownership.

This is all new stuff that has shaken out after initially cleaning out the bilge in the first year. I wasn't expecting to see anything heading into my third year.
