Is there anyone here who didn't have one of these? One of the best bathtub toys ever (we didn't have a pool, although I always wanted to try it out in one).
Oh, and my first boat was a yellow and white Sunfish. No pictures 48 years later, unfortunately.
My dad had a 17' whaler, I think 69' that we took all over the great lakes in weather and places we probably shouldn't have (I had to lay on the floor a lot as a kid between the console and the gunwhale). Great boat..driving it to camp on islands (Beaver Island in MI), and seeing my first waterspout racing it back to the dock. Lots of memories.
Grew up with a 70’s era IMP-all I remember is that it had a 188 hp Merc V8. He sold it when I was 16, flood of 92 did him in. Bought an 2006 18ft Crownline in 2014, and had for two seasons. Now have a 210 and it suits us well.
Our first boat is this 2005 Glastron GSX with 4.3. It's been a great boat. Put a little money into bringing it back, and she served us gorgeously. Currently waiting on delivery of our new 2020 195S,and couldn't be happier. Now to sell this Glastron. New baby gonna need accessories
I dont have any pics of the old girl but my first boat was a jetboat in 1985 and looks like my last boat will be too. 1971 Sleekcraft Flatbottom with a 455 oldsmobile and dual holleys. This aint it but it looked dam close to this paint and engine config. Miss the crazy days of no fear and balls to the wall haulin across the lake, lolol.

1973 Glastron Tri hull was my first boat when I was 19. Told my parents I was going to buy it, they didn't want me to have the expense and so they bought it. For all intents and purposes though it was mine. I took care of it, fixed it, and was the one that took it out. This isn't my exact boat, but looked the same. Don't think I have any pics of the boat. It's amazing how much less our lives were documented back then.
My first boat 100% in my name that I bought is my 212x
I still have the shirt and shorts from the above picture. I'll try to pose this weekend for a similar pic so we can evaluate my current level of coolness

So the very first boat I "drove" would be this one:
I did nearly kill myself driving a wet bike in St. Tropez....this is me being driven in after smacking the handle bars avoiding a wind surfer. I spent 3 days in hospital after that! Massive concussion.
Cant find a photo of our 1977 Imperial 19' cuddy cabin.
