So, I was able to get the vacation time for said dates. Barring unforeseen circumstances, we are in (2-4 adults)!

Looking at booking stuff now.

Interested. We have a 195 S on deposit. First time boaters, have owned a PWC since 2003, not the same obviously. I know it depends on the weather, but assuming favorable conditions can a 19' make the crossing. What is the average time to cross?

Yes a 19' er can make the crossing. Will want to bring extra fuel. Time to cross for me has averaged 3.5 hours (4.5, 3.25, 2.75 hours - all ball park numbers, and depends on if you are talking about time from departing the marina, or from leaving the intracoastal)

Yes, it can be done, and it is probably worth it. But it is not the most comfortable way to get across gulfstream, lol.
Conditions are everything. Planning is everything, too.
I would assume you have some experience running off shore. Also consider it may be difficult to keep up with the larger boats, depending on conditions. I have done it once in a 190 and once in a 240. You have to be pretty committed to cross in a 19fter.

I really took advantage of the Black Friday specials to fully equip our midwest lake boat for safe offshore travel and fishing. With all the packages that keep arriving, the wife is getting suspicious about what this first trip will actually cost.

And don't forget to add a price of a new trailer if you plan on "pulling a @Glen", at a gas station, lolol.

(Sorry Glen, if you're reading this, couldn;t help myself, lol)

I blame Glen's incident on @Bruce for holding a group leader meeting over the phone. But at least it gave major smack down an opportunity to be a hero.

@Amar Nanduri I costed me that same. The one difference between you and me is that you got a shattered windshield, I got a cracked anchor locker.

@Betik planning another gulf icw trip to Golden nugget in July for a stoney larue concert if your interested. The weak moments should have room. As long as you make sure poseidon doesn't ruin my trip again. Last year he sent hurricane Laura to decimate lake charles a week before my departure.
