Bimini Trip June 27th - July 2nd 2021

So while on land, "Meet at the dock" is legal, but "Meet at the infinity pool" is illegal. Such a fine line, lol!!!!
Yeah....in Bimini everyone uses Marine radios to communicate. You want a cab....they call it on channel 68. No real point in even TRYING to police it.....why they would even try to limit the channels designated as "non-commercial" is beyond me. But it is good to know what each channel is for, and ensure you aren't using a restricted channel.

@Five Faces unless of course the infinity pool is within 3 miles of the water, and is maritime business-related. "meet at the infinity pool to discuss tomorrows boat adventures"

I guess as you outlined the VHF ashore must "communicate with a vessel offshore" can be defined as just anybody on the water whether they are the intended recipient or not. Either way looking forward to using my VHF both ashore and offshore.

Good to know, thanks! I'm expecting I will be using the VHF more this trip than any other boating trip in the past, including our bare boat charter in the BVI's. Looking forward to it!!!

What do you guys do to keep batteries topped off after a day with the radio on? Does Bimini cove have power at the slips?

I don't leave my boat radio on unless we are running. But we are on the canal and I hope to have enough extension cord to charge it. Otherwise, Im assuming solar charger..

Added you to the private message.
Hey @Julian, we're in (pending no COVID changes). Group of 3 adults (30's), likely staying at Bimini Sands but not yet booked.

We would love to join you guys, would be our second crossing. Myself, wife and 16 year son.

True that!

I was just there 2 weeks ago wondering around in it again.

Pretty sad.

not worth any where near that now the place is so run down. Great property but maybe worth 1 million

True that!

I was just there 2 weeks ago and my wife and I were talking about the stories that place could tell!
