Sea trial any 'toon your considering in rough water first. While the newer pontoons have bigger tubes, lifting strakes, etc., they still cut rough water with a lot of spray. That was the other thing I forgot to mention I hated about that boat. Crossing wakes or white caps couldn't be done at WOT as the spray would SOAK everyone.

What kind of pontoon did you own? I loved the way mine handled boat wakes and chop. It would only top out at about 40 but I would frequently be cruising 32-35 mph and loved it no one got wet.

The point about MSRP on virtually everything besides Yamaha is something it seems people don't keep in mind. Yamaha has been very smart about their strategy because they likely know that many shoppers compare MSRPs when deiciding what to look at without considering that on virtually anything other than a Yamaha it is very very normal to get 15% or more lower as the actual sales price.

Some of these 'toons do seem truly awesome. Personally my issue is the overall look, but that's just me. For a boat used for social purposes that don't involve overnighting, it is hard to imagine much beating the functionality of a toon. Tritoons with the deeper center log even handle like "normal" boats.

Yea i am looking at a few. 24ft -27 at least a 250, rather a 350. But it is a lead sled. I am all about the ride and sitting in a big ass soft chair doing 45+ with a bunch of friends and a cigar and the music pissing everyone off haha.

No more Bimini trips?

They make some with windshields now if you want to keep your cigar burning right and use it longer in the year.

It was a 2004 Sun Tracker Party Barge. SPRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY was fun when the girls were three drinks in and it was hot out. Not as fun if it was cooler and the in-laws were with us.

Yes I was pleasantly surprised how much cheaper I got my other boats.

Nothing against a Sun Tracker. But I'm looking a little higher end than that. The Avalon i rode on was dry as a bone doing 35 over pretty big wakes.

I think i have looked at ever model. They are 50,000- skys the limit. But thats the twin 350-450 slide ect ect. Dont need all that. A 24-27 with a 350+ tri toon

The family and I was out this weekend, just takin it easy because we had a baby on board. We were doing about 30, semi-choppy lake. I looked over and toon with a ski tower went rippin by us.. I was sad for a moment. Lol
