2022 Yamaha Boat Updates

I'm a Chaparral fan, and if I was getting a new 21' outboard it would likely be a 21 SSI OB (or more specifically, the 21 SSI Fish & Ski OB). I notice that Chaparral has their 2022 models (and pricing) on their website. Their Vortex site, however, looks like it still has the 2021 information.

Jim

I believe Vortex is "pausing" production for the 2022 model year, that's why there'snothing new on their website. We'll see if they actually come back for 2023 or discontinue the line (or possibly sell the line to another manufacturer). I believe the Scarab line is also being shopped around to other manufacturers.

Vortex and Scarab sell <1000 boats combined across their entire lineups (~600, give or take), which must be hard to make money from. Combined, they own less than 10% of the jet boat market. Yamaha OTOH owns about 90% of the market.

Came across this graphic on the internet. I though it was interesting to see a visual for the Scarab, Vortex (Chaparral) and Yamaha layouts.

Love this. Thanks for sharing. If I had the extra money or later in life, I will go with Scarab. The finishes are MUCH higher end, but while I have two young boys, a Yamaha is great to knock around in.

You taken a look at Scarab?
Their 255ID seems like it uses the 25 feet much better than the 25ft Yamahas. Better cockpit seating arrangement behind the captains chairs, larger swim platform with optional extension, more easily accessible head compartment, and more engine options. Problem is that its pricing seems to line up more with the 252SE/SD or wake series once you add a tower, etc, and I'm looking at AR250 pricing. The Scarab also seems to have less under-seat storage. The price, additional storage, bigger bow area, and clean out ports were what made me choose Yamaha.

Out of curiosity, is anyone looking at a different purchase option with all of the rumors of the yamaha boats price jump? My wife and I have been waiting on a 212 since January and with hearing that the price may go up $5-10K, it has us looking around at other manufacturers. Curious to know if anyone else is doing the same, and what you might be considering. We have looked at possibly going with a Chaparral or a Scarab, depending on the yamaha price jump and if we can get our deposit back...
I’m actually considering selling my 250 and buying the 21ft seadoo switch.

I also have a deposit on a 212. I’m 1st in line at my dealership. He told me it looks like the base 212 going from 53 to 60, but I guess we find out for sure tomorrow. I’m in same situation, not sure if 60+ is doable for us anymore. We should have no issue getting deposit back with such a large increase in price that was unknown at the time. I think many may be in the same situation.

Hey all
New here. I put down a deposit for a 2022 AR210 wayy back in April. My dealer (in Jax) keeps telling me he’ll have info “any day now”, but I haven’t heard anything. Hopefully I’ll have some info by week’s end. In the meantime, anyone hear anything about color options, price, or any changes to the new 210?

@DocksB Tomorrow all the info should be released.

Seems like 6 to 8% increase on price but like hang said, all the info should be released tomorrow.

Yup.....all the info will be here in a sub forum to the 2022 model year line up....just like previous years. Spent the weekend shrinking their MASSIVE photos down to web size and loading them all.

Under NDA til noon EDT tomorrow....so all I can tell you is they are selling boats still in 2022.
