Don't say that !!!
NOPE. That UK study does not show what was claimed here by the poster. in the UK over 90% of those ages were vaccinated. If the vaccine did nothing, 90% of the deaths should have been in vaccinated people. The study SHOWS vaccinations prevent death. You can't blindly compare # of deaths for vaccinated to unvaccinated, unless the vaccination rate was exactly 50%, or you must Pro-rate.

Let's hope the Israeli study holds out. It would be awesome if the immunity holds and is strong.

Don't say that !!! Like the Israeli study on natural immunity. It doesn't follow the narrative. They cant deny it so they will feign ignorance, or act as if they haven't heard about it.
Not at all. The Israeli study is Awesome! It also says those with natural immunity and vaccine induced immunity are super protected.

The UK reference is just tougher for people to understand the math. But thats all it takes. Sad, but not surprising, that poticians keep referencing it (you'd think they'd have smart staffers that would try to prevent them from looking like idiots).

And I stated the facts right in my post and I'm not surprised you missed/ignored it too. Sorry the facts don't align with your desire to change them. Fact is, they've chosen to consider it a line of duty death. You can't change that.....unless you are involved in each Police Department's decision making process for this. Otherwise - the facts are what they are.

Personally I'm glad they've chosen to consider them line of duty deaths. The officers can't quarantine, and died because they couldn't. No question in my mind that they should get the benefits of a line of duty death. Are you anti cop and don't want want their families to get this benefit? Do you have some data source that says that no work was put into determining if they were exposed in the line of duty, and these departments shouldn't give them LOD death benefits? Frankly I don't think they should be forced to prove how they caught it. They exposed themselves day in and day out protecting us. Its disgusting that anyone would question that.
I didn't catch the segment on the news, but ABC does have an on-line article this morning where they link to the Officer Down Memorial Page. The page lists all causes of line of duty deaths for LEO's. The page shows 228 Covid-19 deaths of a total of 355 line of duty deaths in 2021. And, the page shows 245 Covid-19 death of a total of 374 line of duty deaths in 2020. In summary, roughly 2/3's of all LEO line of duty deaths in 2020 and 2021 were listed as Covid-19 related.

A bullet and Covid,.....................

Sad but true, LEO's are not in the best of health. Like the general US population they are infested with co-morbidity's. That accounts for the Covid death rate. It will skew the actual in the line of death causation.

That all Covid deaths were line of duty is an assumption not supported by facts.
Respectfully, you already had this discussion with Julian, so I'm not going there.

These LEO's are dead. Cause of death is Covid-19. If you want to argue the LEO caught Covid while off-duty, I'm not wading into that. God bless them for their service to their communities.

Honestly, I don't know know why everything has to be an argument. This is how there deaths have been reported.

A Massachusetts state police Sargent took the vaccine on Friday because of the mandate to keep his job. He has been hospitalized since the beginning of the week and is currently in the ICU. Due to what is being reported (sporadically) as a severe reaction.

That's unfortunate. Can you help me find some details? All I can find is that no information has been provided on why he's in the ICU

I see you were unable to leave this thread "IGNORED". If it helps, we can ban you from this thread so you can't undo the "Ignore"?

YES - IT IS SUPPORTED BY FACTS! ALL these officers have been given Line Of Duty death awards because they died from Covid. No matter how much you complain about that....it doesn't change the FACT that 1) They died from Covid, 2) Their Department awarded them a line of duty death from Covid.

Again, complain about the Law Enforcements CHOICE to award them Line of Duty benefits all you want. I think that is what should have been done, and I'm glad their families will get those benefits. Feel free to contact these Law Enforcement Agencies and ask to have their benefits revoked <eyeroll> - that is the only way you'll change the FACTS.

There is no evidence I can find that his hospitalization is due to the vaccine. The Boston Globe reports:

Other sources have conflicting accounts of what may have caused the sergeant to land in the ICU, but he reportedly received the J&J shot Friday. It is not clear if he came down with the coronavirus or not. The CDC states someone is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the shot.
I hope to heck he doesn't have Covid! Would suck to think he got the vaccine 2 weeks late to keep him out of the ICU.

I wasn't surprised that you went into my account and ignored this thread for me after my facetious comment. If you need to ban me from the thread to stifle an opposing viewpoint, you certainly have the power to do so.

As to the Officer in the ICU - there are no confirmed reports that he's in the ICU as a result of a vaccination, although the timing does raise eyebrows. its heartening to see some healthy skepticism, even if only intermittently.

But yet they "don't do any of this" and this isn't a dictatorship.

Conform to the narrative or get banned.

@adrianp89, to be clear the only actions taken were with Lurch’s approval or due to violations of our long established Code of Conduct. We often make requested changes to user accounts. Name changes are a common example.

I am hopeful that he will begin to comply with https://jetboaters.net/threads/our-code-of-conduct.30/ as you and the vast majority of our members do.

I think a healthy skepticism exists in almost everyone who posts on this thread. Many of us who are pro-vaccine have backgrounds in science, and one can't be a scientist without healthy skepticism.

Found this from science.org.au, "Science can be thought of as both a body of knowledge (the things we have already discovered), and the process of acquiring new knowledge (through observation and experimentation—testing and hypothesising)." Most of what we know about Covid falls into the body of knowledge. New knowledge can enter the body of knowledge, but typically takes confirmation. With confirmation, this new knowledge enters the body of knowledge. I post this so that some of you who may not have a science background might be able to understand how some of us think.

Regarding the Officer in the ICU, I sincerely hope he makes a full recovery, regardless of the cause of his hospitalization.

If I haven't been complying with the CoC in my roughly 200 posts, I would have been banned long ago. Approval wouldn't be how I'd characterize my view on Julian's action.

And I specifically called out the facetious nature of my post. I'd like to keep my posts on topic to avoid distractions, yet you keep issues like this alive in the thread vs PM where they belong.
