That looks great! I have a similar setup...it's going to stay damp under there, so treat anything that might rust. But a little preventative maintenance is totally worth the added secure storage.

I wonder if you could wire up an exhaust fan, using ductwork similar to your dryer ducting. They make inline fans, and it could definitely be wired to a thermal unit, or a humidity sensor. They make higher-powered radial fans as well, such as what's used in radon abatement, that would work even better.

Took the deck boards off the deck today. Here are some overhead shots of the framework. Precision carpentry here. 2x6 joist with 4x4 posts scattered for support under without any cross support system, nothing is straight, boards scabbed on all over and joist spacing varies from 14-26”. ??‍

If that was done by any of the contractors around here, they would have used about 50 tubes of caulk to fill in the gaps..

@Babin Farms I can't see a single joist hanger in your pic, did they just screw into the face of the joists to connect them to the 4x4's?!?!?

I get that maybe it's been worked on over the years, but you'd think they would at least have notched the posts or SOMETHING other than...lemme guess, drywall screws? ?

The broken bolt came out of the block easily


Got it all back together we no extra pieces (although we did have to pull intake manifold twice because we forgot stuff that had to be installed first

I'm surprised all the empty Blue Light's that were drained during construction weren't under there when you uncovered it.

Truck is done, yard is done, now it's time to get the boat ready. I'm actually least excited about that. Lots and lots of hours ahead of me with that and work has to be done in the driveway out in the sun.
