That looks great! I have a similar setup...it's going to stay damp under there, so treat anything that might rust. But a little preventative maintenance is totally worth the added secure storage.

I wonder if you could wire up an exhaust fan, using ductwork similar to your dryer ducting. They make inline fans, and it could definitely be wired to a thermal unit, or a humidity sensor. They make higher-powered radial fans as well, such as what's used in radon abatement, that would work even better.

Just a thought, sorry if I went on too long ?

Took the deck boards off the deck today. Here are some overhead shots of the framework. Precision carpentry here. 2x6 joist with 4x4 posts scattered for support under without any cross support system, nothing is straight, boards scabbed on all over and joist spacing varies from 14-26”. ??‍♂️
If that was done by any of the contractors around here, they would have used about 50 tubes of caulk to fill in the gaps..

"Looks Good From My House Construction, how can we help you?"

@Babin Farms I can't see a single joist hanger in your pic, did they just screw into the face of the joists to connect them to the 4x4's?!?!? o_O

Brackets?? Who needs something like that?? Standards down south must be slightly lower than up north…

I get that maybe it's been worked on over the years, but you'd think they would at least have notched the posts or SOMETHING other than...lemme guess, drywall screws? ?

The broken bolt came out of the block easily

Got it all back together we no extra pieces (although we did have to pull intake manifold twice because we forgot stuff that had to be installed first

So now you're doing a thesis paper on my humidity issues? Are you getting paid by the keystroke on this forum, @drewkaree ?

I'm surprised all the empty Blue Light's that were drained during construction weren't under there when you uncovered it.

..lemme guess, drywall screws? ?
Thankfully no. They at least used galvanized nails in a nail gun. Found a strip of the under the deck.

Let me correct you, they were Bud Light & Keystone light cans that I found under there?

You know when it was all finished, the guy cracked open a beer, walked back and forth, stopped his foot on it and said “that ain’t going nowhere. Good job you”

And how long did it last? It always amazes me.

So there was a tree that they built the deck around? That's a nice personalized touch.!

@Babin Farms of ALL the crap for my phone to be listening to, and feeding similar items to me, THIS is what came across my feed this morning ?‍♂️. Where's something useful, like free winning lottery tickets or something

That’s how I felt when I pulled up all of the deck boards

If that whole thing is level, maybe we just don't appreciate their particular level of genius.

It's hard to tell those kinds of genius if you never see them eating their crayons ?
