Just got an updated confirmation from Marci for our reservation change. She also included a lot of FAQ’s and tips. One thing I noticed is that most everybody accepts cash only? Does this include fuel? We need to make sure we don’t run out of money and then nobody accepts our cards. Any ideas on an average amount most people carry with them?
Damn I wake up a little while ago after working night shift to find I having to read 3 and half pages to catch up, you guys have been busy.
After reviewing wave forecasts and the weather forecasts, a Monday morning crossing is not something I want this group to attempt. The waves don't bother me too much but for the folks that haven't experienced it could be a rough uncomfortable ride. But what really concerns me is the weather forecast, there is a very strong chance of thunderstorms Monday morning which will make the waves even worse.
So I am moving the official crossing to Sunday.Sorry @justason for crowding the Sunday group with all the cool kids.
With this size group I agree with others that a captain's meeting on Saturday night should be in the Marina building lobby.
My crew is looking at a crossing between 10am and 11am on Sunday, anyone that wants to join us is welcome.

Also, some places have a service charge for using cards, you pay the card process fee. If you want to save a little money bring a boat load of cash, otherwise the only cash you really need is for parking in Fort Lauderdale and for the Bahamas Customs.
For folks that are having a difficult time finding a place for Sunday night, my crew is in 7I, a 2 bedroom w/loft and 3 bathrooms, and are happy to share for the night. Just let me know so that I can bring some air mattress for the folks on the floor, also there is at least one couch to crash on.
Just cancelled our reservation at Bahia Mar for sunday night. They have no rooms left at the jet boater rate, so I'll probably stay at the Motel 6 like @Julian. Still trying to get a place in Bimini for Sunday night.
a safe passage for all is welcome. Alpha team charges 2 bears apiece for this Sunday privileged.
ALSO: I wanted to repeat what @ThatJeepGuy posted on the previous page in case it was missed (or someone was napping) Bahia Mar fuel docks are closed this weekend...... fuel up before dipping or at the marina near the bridge.
sorry for the repeat, but its an important one to catch thanks @ThatJeepGuy
The Lauderdale Marina, just north of the HWY 17 (A1A) bridge, opens at 6 am Sunday, so if folks that can't fuel on Saturday, this is an option for Sunday morning.
