2018 Bimini June trip (June 24th - June 30th)

The Hilton has rooms available. Marina space is the problem.

If I rent the 50’ slip again for Sunday night I would have room for another boat. It’s a private slip so I don’t think the dock master could say anything about 2 boats. I could ask the owner.
Ok im reserving the Hilton but have to wait until tomorrow to find out about the slip

@Gofish206 Were did you find that private slip?

The National Weather Sevice has published a peak at Monday’s forecast....

SUNDAY East southeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas less than 2 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. A chance of showers and thunderstorms.

SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY
East southeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. A chance of showers and thunderstorms.

We are booked at Hilton for Sunday night — would take you up on the slip if they will let us. I’ll call tomorrow just to see if they have space. When I booked online at Hilton.com, it did say “Complimentary parking included with room :)

My understanding is that the Resorts World dock masters will let you pack as many boats as you want into a slip.

There is an anchorage area near the RW docks used by sail boats. You might consider anchoring your boat in the area and using one boat, a paddle board, swimming etc to get to RW.

If you do anchor please be mindful of the fast traffic and big waves that are sometimes found in the channel.

You can see the anchorage in this video.

Regarding rooms at Bimini Sands for Saturday night, I spoke to Marci this morning and they were completely sold out for Sat night. (I suppose they might have cancellations....or you could stay in one of the units with no AC?).

I also assume that some of us at the Sands staying at the end of the harbor will be on straight docks (no U). In which case I assume they would be ok with us doubling up boats???? @Bruce have they ever done this? WOuld they care?

In the past they haven't cared but that was with different folks running the marina. I bet they won't care as long as the get a dock fee from the person tied up to the other boat.

Something doesn’t look right.....

They are two different locations from two different sources so there will be some variations based on that.

The wind clocking around to a Northerly around noon, would be concerning to me. Not from experience, just from some light reading I've been doing.

I have an email into the dock master letting him know to expect arrival on Sunday. Bimini Sands has by far the safest marina in Bimini. @Julian's idea is a great one. It might make sense to leave boats and supplies at BS and have a few boats shuttle people back and forth.

I'm just going to hang out at the pool and get sloppy drunk Sunday night; then I won't care where I sleep.

No problem at all I will contact the dock owner tomorrow and reserve the slip for Sunday night. I called RW marina yesterday and asked if I could just tie up with no water or electricity somewhere and they said it shouldn’t be an issue with my “small” boat lol. Either way I don’t think we will have an issue. But we can definitely discuss in further detail Saturday night over a drink

This was my plan but the wife’s didn’t like the idea of sleeping in lounge chairs the first night

My wife actually said if we didn't have kids I would just say lets camp on the boat lol. It would kind of suck though you would want to camp far enough off shore to be away from the bugs.

you just need to be 150 feet out right? Just anchor and put on the anchor alarm at 50 feet radius.
