Fortress FX16. We have one for our 40 ft Sea Ray and several of our friends with much larger boats have the same one and they hold beautifully in the sandy conditions that we have on our lake.
From what I was reading about ROAM, the video chat only happens if the Customs agent decides it is needed, It is not something that is mandatory all the time. It's entirely possible they may clear you without a video chat.
@farrelltravis also sells the Mantus anchors and they work very well in a variety of conditions. I saw him on Saturday and at one point he had 3 Yamahas on one small Mantus stern beach anchor. I only recommend Fortress because that's what I have and use and I can take it apart for storage if needed.
Eric,
I guess my thought wasn't crazy because you are doing the samething as I thought of. Much like calling in I bet it will take a long time in the queue before the actual video chat.
last week I playing around on the app and entered a trip. ..thinking it was a float plan more than an arrival request. my syntax error resulted in an immediate return text of "entry denied" ..... I agree with @Sbrown above, I'm expecting a text approval, video chat in the event something is amiss. I dont have an acct on HULLTRUTH but I bet there is some experience there for this.....

The only mention of use I could find on THT is this:
"I will say the new online app CBP Roam is making it much easier to clear when coming back to Florida. CBP doesn't even want you to call when coming back just submit the info on the appl."
We should probably start a CBP ROAM separate thread.
I finally got all my ducks in a row... Please note down the changes @Bruce , @Andy S .
My stay in Bimini Sands is switched to 21 I ( 2 bed room 1 loft 3 bath ocean view ).
My boat crossing is changed from a Chaparral 270 Signature to a Formula 350 . It is currently shrink wrapped and being shipped today from Boston to Miami and should reach Miami sometime this week. Me and my friend plan to reach Miami sometime next week and stay there till the trip and get some practice on the new boat. It comes with a radar. I need to take a crash course in radar the next couple of weeks and see if we can get some use out of it.
This rocks! Hopefully we won't need it, but knowing where a storm is heading and its size will be very helpful! In that boat, you could depart with us, drive to bimini and come back to meet us at the half way point! LOL

Lol no. It is my friend's boat and he is also coming. If I win the lottery and buy this, I will run the risk of sleeping by myself on the boat for a long long time if I pull a stunt like this
It is a 2011 350 SS and it sure can run. During the sea trail I was comfortably cruising at 48 mph in the Boston bay.

Several on THT have reported that the ROAM app resulted in a video chat within minutes, and it made the clearing process really easy. Ppl that have actually used it in the last few weeks are raving about it.
On another note, one frequent visitor arrived in Bimini at 8pm and - based on many years of history - decided to clear the next morning. Immigration apparently was still open, came to his condo and fined him $1,500 for not clearing upon arrival.

I'm the opposite, with the news since part of my crew is in a different vehicle to travel back home, I'm keeping my crew separate just in case it takes longer with 20 some boats checking in at once.
