I'm not sure what I'm doing yet. I have an iPad for work. I have an iPad 4 for home and an iPad 1 that I use for the boat and any time I don't want to risk damaging the 4. And my previous 4 phones have been iPhones. With all the chords already purchased, chargers, familiarity, icloud, and iTunes compatibility it makes sense to keep with the iPhone.

With that said, I didn't really want a larger cell phone. I like the size of the 5. The new size of the 6 makes me nervous I won't like it. I'm sure I'm in a minority of smart phone users that don't want something huge. I also don't think apple has done anything revolutionary for a very long time, although I do think they build a quality device that looks good and functions well. I also love iCloud and the ease of backup.

So do I take a chance with the 6, save money and get a 5s, or look into other phones? Hmmm...

I'm in basically the same position, and I think I may hold on to my 5 for awhile longer. The one thing I've been happy about is the device support for upgrades. I've got an iPad2 that will still get the latest OS.

I just noticed this about the Apple Watch on the website:

At the bottom of the page it says:

This device has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission. This device is not, and may not be, offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained.

I could not find that disclaimer in reference to the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus.

Not that it means much I'm sure. They should have that cleared up by the time I decide if I'll buy them.

I decided I'll be placing an order tonight online at midnight for a 6 64gb in black. I already ordered a case for it off newegg! It doesn't make sense for me to switch from apple and I like having the most current model.

I ditched all of my windows stuff when they came out with 8. Upgraded my office to all iMacs running OSX and was completely impressed with how easy it is if you have one apple device that you sign into that account and all of your apple devices update and share. I always had troubles getting my PC to do that. As for android, to me they suck. They are not intuitive at all. I tried to use them and my test was the old guy test.. I gave one to my dad and said use it... he screwed with it for a few minutes thens suggested we use it in lieu of a clay pigeon. Same test for the new windows 8, he threatened to use me instead of a clay pigeon and did the same with the apple products... he is happy and until 3 years ago only knew how to turn a computer on and play solitaire.... I love apple, and I am equally worried about their future without Jobs but I think they will find someone eventually who will bring them back to the fore front. One thing I can always say about apple products is their C/S is dynamite, their products are solid and reliability has been outstanding... I have never had any other device from android, blackberry, iden etc. that worked as smooth and reliable.

I would say fairly it is and it isn't. Jobs did push for the what can it or you do much better than the what it had in it. That was Apple's niche all along IMHO. The advantage of what other like to throw at apple say their pricing etc and then looking into the hardware that Apple uses, it is fair to say Apple products are top end. Its like buying a Bentley then you can meander to the PC crowd and get your Yugos, Buicks and Caddys but they never quite become the level of the Bentley. I know my comparison is very drastic but it is for good reason, when I used to run PC I had been a Dell fan for years, they had decent help etc. and the machines did the best they could. It was not until Vista hit the market that I learned a valuable lesson, I called Microsoft to spec my Vista machine and they told me I needed a 64 bit platform (at that time it was very limited) and told me exactly what components to purchase for reliability. I had Vista ultimate and that machine ran for 10 years plus with none of the horrors we heard about but it was built to run that program as the programmer intended. When I retired that machine last year I did the same thing and called MS and had them spec me a machine for Win 8 and when done I was looking at 3.8K. It got me thinking and since I needed to upgrade my office at the same time I was looking at 3 machines. I also went to Best buy and started playing with machines that had the Win8 on them and couldn't get very far, it lost its intuitive features and everything seemed to be more designed for touch screen manipulation vs. mouse. Since I had my iPad and iPhone for years already and loved them for their ease of use and reliability I looked at Apple. When I talked to them I asked why I only had 2 or 3 options for specific items like hard drive, memory, video and monitor size and nothing else. Their reply is what sold me. The engineer I spoke with (I did not speak to sales reps as they will tell you anything you want to hear so I went to the engineers) told me it was like this, there are so many mtgs of similar components each with varying tweaks, cost and most importantly QC that they stick to a certain set of tolerances and that weeds out the crowd. They also said as I have experienced in the past and this was equally confirmed with the Windows engineer I consulted as well that you can run a system on sub standard hardware and sure it will work but it will not perform. When everyone compares an apple laptop to a somewhat equal dell, or ibm, they are far from equal until you weed through all of the endless options and actually pick the components that are equal and on the same level. When I was done with my two comparisons, the apple was about $500 less than what I would have had in a PC for Win8. The best part has been C/S, I call and always get a US based rep. Don't hold very long (less than 2 minutes) and if they do not have an answer they will ask to call you back rather than leave you on hold and they do call you back with solutions not try this or that. It is truly what the machine can do because of how it is designed.

@HawkTX Its going to need 1.4G of free space on your phone. So there may be alot of picture and app deleting in order to upgrade. I know I will have too. I am going to wait till later tonight after the servers get all thier crashes out of the way this afternoon.

Must suck to have to delete stuff off your phone to make space for an OS upgrade! My Samsung Note 3 has 60-70GB free still...no worries about space for a long long time...and I have 4-5 movies on it! But if I needed some space....just pop out the 64GB memory card and pop a new one in! Voila!
