This thread is an attempt at understanding myself and the circumstances that have led me from a person who can barely swim to someone that was able to navigate the gulf stream successfully within a span of one year. It is an attempt at self discovery and I hope you like it...

Am I nuts for doing it? - Absolutely. Everyone that knows me attests to that
Will I do the trip again? - Absolutely without hesitation.

I voted yes but with the caveat this will not have a detour into the the NSFW section,

Shoot.... the download keeps failing to my phone. Am I going to have to get out the computer?

@Amar Nanduri did you say something about not been able to have a motorcycle and that you like pictures right? I thought I share what my 2million worth of life insurance came with.
Please understand in no way I want to make you feel jealous or anything like that. .........

On the second thought, I DO. I do very much so. LOL
don't ask why... you know the answer to the retorical question . "Force of habit" LOl
I hope this serves you well for being so organized with headings and pictures on your story.

Is that your pink bicycle too

Is that your pink bicycle too

How do you mean "is that your pink bike too" ? That is what I have been referring all this time. Pink bike is mine. The blue one is my son's and the red motorcycle is my wife's. Duh !!!
You did not think that Honda NC700X is mine , did you ?

@Amar Nanduri it is actually a very popular commuter bike in Europe. It has trunk and gets about 70 mpg with MSRP$8,000. It is not very popular in the US though.

Loving the story Amar, keep it coming!!

70 mpg wow.

oops, there goes my work for today

"She was worried about us being accepted by the group (Let’s face it. We will be the only ones different in the group and I would rather not visit this topic) and I told her not to worry "
I have spend a lot of time on other European countries, and no place ways "welcome" to differences like these United States of America.

"As it is my lack of swimming ability and offshore experience severely handicaps me. Add to that a few weekends of boating experience and I do not inspire confidence to anyone in my circle."
My circle of friends was actually planing on how my life insurance will be best utilized. I feel your pain and I glad to have ruined their plans. LOL

1000% agreed that USA is the best place on earth and different people are welcome here. We met a few unsavory characters here in the past 20+ years here and so there was a little concern.
