CoVID-19 / SARS-CoV-2 Information and Questions

One death or injury from vaccines is one too many PERIOD.

You might consider the numbers in this independent research. No medication is perfect however effective vaccines save lives. The FDA approved SARS-CoV-2 vaccines are some of the best studied, safest and most effective vaccines ever produced.

Again - 1 death from a medicine/so called vaccine is too many

Do you apply the same standard to driving, boating, flying, walking, drinking water, taking Tylenol etc?

How many deaths from spreading vaccination misinformation are acceptable to you?

Again - 1 death from a medicine/so called vaccine is too many

Every single death or serious injury from a vaccine is sad and unfortunate and should never be minimized. However, what if the same vaccine that might be responsible for a death ALSO saves 1,000 lives?

This is where the risk/benefit ratio comes into play.

You can make your own choice, but, personally, if the benefits far outweigh the risks, I’m getting vaccinated or taking the drug.

What if the person was being told by .gov they would lose their job/lively hood if they didn’t take a medication that was only approved for emergency use?

Not sure of the relevance other than diverting from the current topic of the harm caused by spreading misinformation.

Regardless our federal and state governments have the right to decide who they wish to employ just as citizens have the right to discontinue employment.

In the state of Maine the .gov agencies told private companies that they could no longer employ the citizens that they wanted too… unless they take a medication only available for emergency use.

As stated in this thread that may or could have caused death to a citizen that felt forced into taking a drug they otherwise would have chose not to inject.

I’m asking if you think that’s reasonable? At what point is it not reasonable to coerce citizens Into taking medications they don’t want because others are afraid of a cold virus?

So this is really your position? Seriously?
Question Re: other vaccines & safety in the past, after how many deaths / injuries did the FDA decide they were unsafe and pulled them off the market?

Mandates. Already had that discussion, in depth, when it was relevant. Now, not so much. I don’t plan to talk about it anymore.

Still happy to have a meaningful discussion of the vaccine and approval process.

Question Re: other vaccines & safety in the past, after how many deaths / injuries did the FDA decide they were unsafe and pulled them off the market?

Valid question to ask. But the corollary question is How many lives Have been saved or bettered by approved medication? It is nonsensical to only look at one side of the benefit/risk equation.

There are no sure things in life. We weigh the risk/benefits on dozens of personal decisions every single day of our lives.

Literally was wondering.

Literally was wondering.

You skipped my questions above.

Do you take tylenol, aspirin or any other medication?

You seem to have a lot of misunderstanding about vaccines and requirements in Maine. Comirnaty, the Pfizer SARS-CoV-2 vaccine was approved in August of 2021. (FDA Approves First COVID-19 Vaccine) Maine's OSHA requirement for vaccination or masking and testing began in September of 2021 after the full approval of Comirnaty. Maine's OSHA requirement provided an alternative to vaccination. (MDOL: News & Events)

I don't know what the metrics are, but I do trust our healthcare experts to make very careful and hard decisions like this on our behalf. This is why some of these new medications for Alzheimers are being approved with lower efficacy data....because the end result is death anyway, so many patients are willing to be guinea pigs for unproven or partially effective drugs.

As Bruce alludes to, every drug you take typically has serious adverse impacts for a tiny fraction of the population, up to and including death. But if Tylenol, for example, kills .001 of the people who take it, but removes pain from 99.999 % of people who take it....do you not approve it? Tylenol kills approx 500 people per year by the way.

Please stop with the misinformation

The mandate was announced before FDA approval.

And people were fired in October well before cominarty was available.

Perhaps you should read the article that you quoted. That health care worker’s mandate went into effect Oct. 1, 2021 which was after the Pfizer vaccine was fully approved. It was nice of the Governor to give the HCWs time to prepare by announcing earlier.

The order was announced ~6weeks before it took effect. Due to the 4 weeks required between doses. And the 14 days (per state guidelines) after the second dose to be considered fully vaccinated citizens would have to take the medication almost immediately. Before it was FDA approved.

The timing was tight but allowed for both doses to be taken after approval on August 23rd before the second dose was required on September 17th. Pfizer’s preferred dosing schedule was 21 days between doses. That period was 26 days.

This is the mandate as issued August 12th.

That mandate is only for health care workers. The OSHA mandate was separate with a later schedule.

Adding CoVID-19 to the the vaccination requirements for HCWs was a positive step protecting the HCWs and patients while preserving capacity in the health care system.
