Hi! 2025 AR195. 10.5 hours on it.

We're currently stuck at the dock. Turn key, all electronics work, boat doesn't even crank. Tried jumping off two jumper boxes and one boat, nothing.

Hatch is closed, lanyard is in, throttle is in neutral...what am I missing??? It worked last week.

Try pushing down on the clean out hatch plunger. See if the switch came loose

The only interlocks that will keep the starter motor from engaging are the neutral switch and the clean out hatch.

There’s a fuse on the starter solenoid …. If you have a test light check stuff to make sure you’ve got power everywhere.

✅ Quick Checklist (Since You're Already at the Dock)

  1. Kill switch / lanyard:
Even though it looks like it's in, pull it out and snap it back in firmly. Some owners report it being finicky.
  2. Throttle position sensor switch:
Even if throttle looks in neutral, try wiggling it slightly forward and back — it may not be engaging the neutral safety switch fully. You can also try starting in forward/reverse to test if the neutral switch is faulty.
  3. Check the engine hatch safety switch (a.k.a. engine compartment interlock):
Sometimes the hatch doesn’t fully engage the safety switch. Try pressing down on the hatch while someone tries starting.
  4. Battery terminals:
Even though electronics are working, a loose or corroded battery connection can give you 12V but no cranking power. Remove and clean all battery terminal connections — especially the grounds.
  5. Blown fuse:
Check the starter relay fuse, often found near the battery or in the engine fuse panel. If it's blown, nothing will crank.
  6. Starter relay or solenoid issue:
You may be hearing a click — or nothing at all — if this relay is bad. If you’re getting no click at all, it's likely power isn't reaching the relay — possibly due to a bad ground or faulty ignition switch.

✅

If the above doesn’t work, and you have a multimeter or test light:
  • Test voltage at starter solenoid when key is turned to start

If there’s no voltage there, issue is upstream — neutral switch, lanyard, ignition.
  • Check the ground from the engine block to the battery

Clean and re-tighten — a poor engine ground can prevent cranking even with jumper power.

🛠️ Temporary Bypass (Emergency Use Only)

⚠️ Only if you're experienced and desperate to get back — and at your own risk:

You can briefly jump the starter solenoid terminals using a screwdriver — this bypasses ignition/neutral/lanyard switches, so use caution. If the starter spins, then your issue is one of those interlock systems, not the battery or starter motor.

Final Thoughts:

Since the boat is basically brand new (10.5 hours), warranty support should be involved ASAP. But getting towed back and diagnosing at the dock will save hassle. If it was jump-started off another boat or battery and nothing happened at all, that's pointing more to a relay/safety switch issue, not power.

Run the throttle through the range, forward then back, and back to neutral.

Have someone open the cleanout hatch and physically depress the switch while you try to crank it

1-Throttle checked
2-Engine hatch checked
3-Clean out hatch plug removed and reinstalled, Switch pressed manually
4-Checked under dash and I only see two wires not connected but no idea if they were connected before
5-Don't see a starter fuse near battery or anywhere in engine compartment

At this point the day is done and I'll get it to the shop this week :(

Really not happy that in 10 hours it's died

So all the other things come on but the starter does nothing not even a click????

I would jump the solenoid and see if it cranks sounds like a wire issue

Correct, not even a click. I think it's wiring. I'll take some pics from behind the dash tomorrow and maybe someone here will see something wrong :)

OK PROBABLY the 2 wires hanging behind the dash may have come loose from the ignition
