Yea I can only imagine in such clear waters the light would look amazing especially with such aquatic life around. @Bruce did the large boat also have lights on or were you the only boat with all that light? Looks badass!

Several of the large boats had lights on at their stern. The light along the length of Boondoggle (62 Ocean) was all mine.

Report from the Castaways....

Just wrapped up a successful day of snorkeling, reef fishing and chasing dolphins. About to sit down to a selection of leftover lobster, filet, grouper and conch.

Cap'n @Gavin made a run East from the Moselle Bank, turned north, turned back to the west and had dolphins right on our bow. They were not playful but we stopped and must have had 50 feeding around us.

Currently @Rana is occupied by capturing the perfect sunset picture.

Sadly channel 69 is all strangers.

We did meet a 212SS and pass them a map. Unfortunately their radio was a GPRS radio.

Hope everyone is making it home safely.

@Glen, @Kevin Sargent, @MrMoose, @Majorsmackdown, we are planning to have lunch at Cat followed by feeding the rays at Honeymoon tomorrow. Will be thinking of you guys!

Ah, you flew home and left Brian to tow the boat?

You have him well trained

Only one light. I swapped the internals of my 2014 vintage 40 watt LED for a single 100 watt LED COB. I was using a 36 volt power supply that was overdriving the LED to dangerous levels of amperage. The LED has a 34 volt forward voltage. Based on @Mainah's suggestion I added a PWM (motor controller) to drop the supply voltage to 31.3 where the LED is drawing 3 amps on the high side and 10 on the 12 volt side. I did not see any visible difference to running higher amperages. The LED COB is a $10 part. In total this was a less than $50 repair / upgrade to an old LED light.

It is less impressive on a lake but still fun. Here in Bimini I discovered that it is so bright that the rear facing LED seems to illuminate the sides of the boat as well.
Was all that light in those photos from ONE light?

The larger boats had their own lights at their sterns. The light on Boondoggles bow is all mine.

Cap’n @Gavin took us straight to the dolphins.

They did not want to play so we watched from the swim deck.

Afterward Cap’n @Emma took us home.

What did you get pulled over for? I got my hand slapped in June for getting to close to the cruise ships going from harbor town to bahi mar. :(

@AndyD
Came in a little hot making that first left turn after coming in port Everglades trying to avoid other traffic. Wasn’t that fast as I knew I had to start slowing down due to manatee zone but apparently my bow was still up and that’s what got me.
Then my group left me there for dead hahaha
They were actually very nice guys and gave me a bunch of handouts on manatees. Then one surfaced in front of us which made it really awesome. If I wasn’t pulled over I would of never saw it.

The narrow channel to and from Resort’s World, the opportunity to find a large yacht, running the middle of the channel, making huge wake and the shallow sides where you would bottom out in that wake if you try to wait it out are some of my favorite things about Resorts World. I imagine the yacht captains find this quite funny.

This is the second time I have had this experience. Have others had this fun?

Sorry about the upside down video. I plan to fix that when I get home.

@Bruce I think you would do very well in my river! You are one crazy SOB, captain! lolol

They must take you for a local.

I think @Bruce is experiencing 2015/2017 Withdraw Syndrome and is looking for a fix where ever he can get it....

I thought it was no wake all the way from the entrance into N.Bimini all the way up! Never seen anyone going above no wake....so news to me....

The observed practice is that the no wake zone stops once inside the channel markers for Resorts World. This is beyond the traditional marinas but wakes like this certainly cause harm to the shoreline and businesses along it.

@JROD, It was great to see you and the wife again! Earl really enjoyed meeting you both and enjoyed the Army brotherhood exchanged. Be safe and have fun on your 800 mile journey!
@Bruce, Thank you for everything! My guest thank you as well for making them feel a part. Enjoy and safe travel for you and the fam.

Ran down to Cat Cay today. Had lunch on their sand bar then went to Honeymoon Harbor to feed the rays where we had extra attention from a nurse shark.

@Bruce what did that to your fingers?

A shark wanted the squid I was holding for the rays. I did not see which shark it was but felt the tug and pulled my hand out of its mouth.

Initially I thought it was the friendly nurse shark but whatever bit me had sharp teeth so it may have been the small lemon.

It is ok to laugh, we are.

Definitely could've been worse - glad you're ok!

What's the water temp down in Bimini & Honeymoon Harbour?

Thanks, I agree. Had to check for fingers. Just scratches.

I will check water temp tomorrow. It is warm in very shallow water and cooler in the stream.
