First tire ever shredded on the highway... Thankfully, it was slow and we had an easy place nearby to pull over and change it. Currently having lunch while we have the ripped tire rehubbed with a new tire just in case we have another trailer tire issue. Hopefully, that will not be the case, but better to be prepared. We must get back on the road and tally some miles today. Florida here we come!View attachment 39468

damn @Rana go big or go home!!

Radiant Hope is Oscar Mike from Fredericksburg Virginia.
Overnighting in Savannah Georgia to pick up buddy and then Fr Lauderdale tomorrow afternoon
Giddy up!

We are getting strong rain and lighting in South Florida with Flash Flooding and poor visibility on and off from Vero Beach to Jupiter and farther south. Just a heads up if anyone is down this way or closing in.

Y'all didn't play around with that tire!
Glad it didn't do damage to the fender (too much anyway) I know it wasn't speed related since Bruce only tows no more than 60mph

Here is the updated forecast. The calmest period has moved to Saturday night so Sunday morning is trending upward. The window remains open with tightly spaced 1.2 footers with following seas as long as we get out early Sunday.

Sailors rule is to never cross the stream when there is wind coming anywhere from the north.
Part of that is that a sailor could spend hours crossing the stream itself...We don't have that problem.
We will likely see a strange chop when we're actually crossing the stream, if this wind stays coming from the north or the north east

Excuse the typo Siri is typing for me as I drive south

With the wind blowing against the stream, it will stack up the waves. You guys be careful out there. That 1.2 ft predicted may be a bit stronger than that.

Well... More trailer tire issues... Another back tire shredded the other side this time. Found another Wal-mart to have new tire installed... Had front trailer tires checked... Recommended they are changed as well, belts separating. So, 4 new tires total and we are back on the road rolling smooth. Hoping still to make Florida's Fort Pierce tonight... Maybe early morning... Still plenty of time for the hop to Bimini. Praying for no more tire troubles! image.jpeg

@Bruce and @Rana that sucks....hoping for good karma for the remainder of the trip! We are all watching remotely!

On second thought, if I am going to do that Powell trip again, I think I will buy 4 new tires!

@Rana and @Bruce where are you staying in Fort Pierce? If it is by the Turnpike and 95 interchange be careful. That place isn't to safe at night time. So park in well lit areas and be safe. Hope you have a uneventful journey the rest of the way!

We are now at exit 20. Where are you now? This is the first mate while the captain is manning the wheel.
How far do you plan on going today? We're thinking St.Augustine.

Sorry, I was driving....alllll day lol. We stopped 19 miles before st augustine.....exit 385

That storm blew through here a couple hours ago. It was a pretty good one. Hope you all don't have any more troubles!
