My ongoing fuel sender saga... good news!! <replacing fuel sender>

Added this to the FAQ.

@Julian @andy07sx230ho and @MOA_Chaser I have not even had my boat out this spring. It sucks but life is in the way. College graduation, 2 college move outs, and other life junk is in the way of my boating desires so far in May. In other words, no update yet. I can tell you it reads FULL accurately :)

Sorry I don't have more but I am just as curious to see the success of this and will report as I blow through some tanks of gas... I hope to get the boat out this weekend.

I'm thinking I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and roll the dice anyways. While trying to adjust, my sender jumps between a half tank to over full with virtually no movement. Worthless. We're hoping to get on the river soon. We should have been out this past weekend but I have to finish a trailer suspension replacement/upgrade.

I have no reason to doubt that this will not work. The key is to get below half tank on a refill so that the sender resets on its own. The new sender is pretty cheap and easy to replace too.

I just called and talked at length with Mary, then spent just a couple minutes placing my order LOL!

She wasn't sure if I needed the connector or not. I wasn't sure either, so I said to go ahead and include it as it was only $5.

Was the connector required for our boats?

Hey, if we don't need it, can you ask Mary to drop it from my order as well? LOL. You're gonna get grilled on whether you REALLY want this part!

patiently waiting because I would also like to have a fuel gauge I could trust,

@Julian no connector needed as it matches the current one, plug and play, just screw it in the top of the tank.

Wait, @waterboy so you're saying the connector that comes with it is the one that we need? Because it seemed like she was asking if I wanted bare wires or the connector.

@MOA_Chaser I ordered as documented on page 1. I do not recall if she asked about bare wires or connector, but as shown in the pictures, plug is on it. I unplugged the old and plugged in the new... easy peasy.

OK awesome. I stuck with the original part number. She said that removing the connector would change part numbers. So, just call with that part number and stand your ground! She'll try to shake your faith, she'll ask "what if you get it and it's not the right part," she'll want you to hang up and measure your tank... hold firm and place the order!

LOL....So I finally called (at 1:40pm) and get a message.....
"This is century products...........we don't do phone support......we are only open 8-2pm M-Thursday.....leaving a message won't help....BEEEEP"
Apparently the 2pm cutoff is kinda sorta 2pm.....or when Mary is done being bugged by Yamaha folks! :winkingthumbsup"

I got a voice mail around 12:00, it might be worth trying back again.

Don't we have someone's email from Centroid that was very helpful years ago?
