New 2015 Models

From what I saw, it does have its own linkage that goes into the boat and connects to the helm?
There is conflicting data so far. We'll just have to wait and see...

I probably bends until it breaks.

Does anyone else remember a YJB forum member who developed and offered a similar rudder product? I only recall that his rudder was bigger (both the parts under and out of the water) and his mounting hardware thicker.
I thought it was @Cobra Jet Steering LLC I thought that he had this style of steering under patent. Would be interesting to hear his view.

No it's not Jeff W. Of Cobra Jet. It was a new guy that discussed posting his invention with Brian of YJB beforehand.
The company site was jetboatrudder.com I tried to view the post on YJB but got a "you are not authorized to view this forum" message instead.

Here is a link to it on you tube.

Ahhhh, Sucks to be that guy if he did not get a patent.
From the looks of the new hull with the tracking channel and the rudder, this is a great step forward. I would imagine they will be rolling this out to the entire line the next year, which may mean new hulls for all. Which kind of sucks if you were looking to get a new boat this year that's not a 240.

Now I seen the video for the 242 LS I want one!!! That storage behind the swim deck back rest is a great idea for tubes and such! I like that they moved the tow point more back also.

Interesting that they were able to get a patent on the rudder when an almost identical product was already published. Wonder if jetboatrudder never patented it....and wonder if Yamaha's patent will hold.....perhaps it will as its mated to the 13' of keel?

I for one am glad the wait is over. The way the hype was, made us think there were changes across the fleet. I'm glad to see the changes made to the 242 but that is more boat than what I need or want so it's time to pull the trigger on a 2014 and save some $$

Do you guys know if the hulls with the bottom colors get all scratched up, and reveal white? Is it paint or gel coat?
I'm not very happy with the colors and graphics on the new models, I like the simple, clean, modern blue or black designs. The new AR192 looks like something from 5 years ago!

The hull colors are gelcoat but they will scratch and the coating is only a few mills thick. Underneath when the scratch breaks through it will reveal a white or semi pinkish color as you have broke through to the fiberglass and resin. Gelcoat is not too difficult to repair as long as you can get a good match. People have a misconception of what gel coat is, it is usually a polyester resin that is colored and has a wax base to protect the fiberglass from UV etc. It is a two part resin basically, can be sanded, polished etc., it is not like paint on a car.

I absolutely agree with your statement of the new graphics.. so much so I am putting a down payment on a 2014 today to secure it.

What city are you in, any luck getting a deal on price?

Saw the specs of the 242 LS on boat test .com. A few nice you touches and for the price, glad I bought my in 2010. No doubt Yamaha looks at these sites, because they've made improvements that were discussed on these site.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the top speed and fuel economy changes. They made the boat more heavy, but most of that weight should be out of the water when on plane... if I had fingernails I would be biting them.

Curious to see our first member to own a 2015.

It's already happened I thought....JetBoatPilot... and the Wilson dealership.

im not excited about the new 212X colors and graphics.....im glad so I still feel like I made good choice with the 2014. I will let them work the bugs out and get another yammi in..... ummm ....say 15 years....lol
