One picture of your last outing.

What did you have on? What were you fishing for?

I was fishing for big swordfish I think I had a really big shark on. That’s a Shimano 130 reel if you look at the size of it compared to my hand and that rod busted out the rod holder. When the rod holder broke I took the drag off and then the reelCB91E7BB-D51D-4FCF-A76D-E04DE80F139A.jpeg spun like crazy got tangled and stopped and that’s when the line broke. 120 lb test.

Pretty cool, someday I hope to fish in the ocean.

I made an edit from our last outing Friday. For my first surf set of the season I got to demo the new BIG boy, the Slingshot Boss Hoss. I also put the new wetsuit to use. The water was up to 65° and I was nice and comfortable. Enjoy some mediocre surfing!

The Boss Hoss is a lot of board for a modest 200lb "featherweight" like myself. I had a lot of fun messing around on it.

I feel ya... temp in the 40s in NEO and headed down into the 30s...
I’m with you, haven’t gotten out yet, missed the only nice days so far this season in Cleveland for deck replacement. Itching to get out. Weather is crazy this season usually we get out at least a couple times by now.

That's just FREAKING NUTS!!!!

I don't think I personally even know anyone who uses 120lbs test (to fish), lolol.

Well now that you only live an hour from me we will meet up on the water one weekend after my ski comes in then you will know someone who uses 120 pound test personally.?

Nope, Nope, Nope.. Whatever you had on the end of that line had to be something like an old German sub or something. lol
Amazing views. Beautiful water.

Most definitely. I'm in the Kill channel, so trips to the LIS literally under an hour, in good weather. There are no "no wake" zones around Manhattan or in the Kill/van Kull, which still seems unreal. Hope it stays that way.

We chose to go to Portage Lakes for the first time this past Sunday and regretted wasting a nice weather day. The ramp on the way back in was crazy. We spent 45 minutes being civilized (ie staying in line just to drop off because all courtesy docks were taken up by parked boats), while watching boaters cut line, boats fall off trailers, boats nearly fall off trailers, boats ram into the dock, dead boats being towed in etc. We were so flabbergasted that no pictures were taken.

Tried out some new lures.... once I found them had several double hook ups...

We watched 3 large bald eagles swoop around us, stopped for a deer swimming across the river (~30 ft dept), then got twerked and boob flashed by a boat of partying girls. Fortunately our daughters were not paying attention to that episode but damn what a great day out on the boat for my buddy and I and our girls.

Birthday cruise!
