First trip of the season…FINALLY! Gulf side at Shell Island. No picture but had a manatee swim right off our stern as it made it’s way down the coastline. View attachment 180844
We have always thought about going to Torch Lake. 9 hr drive from Taswell, IN. Is it worth it?Torch Lake in Traverse City, great day at the lake today. Much warmer than east grand traverse bay yesterday.View attachment 180952View attachment 180954

There is a launch at the south tip of the lake by the Torch river. When we went we preferred to rent a house on Clam lake and boat over to Torch. I don’t recommend trying to launch in Alden. It’s a tight place to get in & out of. Good idea to check out the launch on maps satellite view before going so you know what to expect. Can you give us any recommendations where to put the boat in the South? My wife & I would have to do some research on where to stay. We just don’t know much about Torch Lake.
Thanks
