Roof was garbage before the winds got here. Was already in the middle of an insurance claim. Had 75-80moh straight line winds today. All the houses up here "on the hill" look like this.

Trampoline is gone. Like, I can't find it after driving around the neighborhood for 30min gone. Wife has posted it on the neighborhood Facebook page, nobody else has seen it either. Stairs look kinda funny just sitting there.

Also, grill came across the deck so fast it broke some of the spindles out. Back yard looks like a war zone of shingles

Neighbors lost a bunch too.

You’re not in Kansas anymore Toto.
that’s unbelievable!

I have a thread on the general discussion page about a Subaru/Robin small engine on my pressure washer. Purchased a $25 China carb kit from Amazon and the pressure washer has never ran this well. Look out Fishhawk HOA, I’m coming for you!

Went over to FL yesterday and spotted this Yamaha on a lift right next to our friends RV park. While we were there chatting a 25ft FSH cruised down the ICW but wasn’t able to get a pic. Always nice to Yamahas out in the wild.

I am finally in the short rows. Almost done the rehab of my deck. Just to give you an idea the size of this deck, over 3000 screws used so far and still have the railings and the outer stairs to finish and some trim pieces. Got one huge pile of wood. Gonna save anything worth saving out of the okd wood to build my wife a Vermont Style covered bridge to go across the cuvert to the new shop. And that should be my 3rd and final bridge lol

There was a guy up in the Western Basin of Lake Erie that tried rehabbing an old wood whaling boat to a walleye head boat. The Coast Guard made him keep every screw from the rehab to account for replacement. 3000+ screws, the guy gave up. Crazy thing, he left the harpoon gun on the bow.

By the time i am finished i figure 3500 screws. 118 20foot trex boards, 30 12foot trex boards, 3 12 foot 2x8s(rotted stringers) 10 16foot 2x6 trex railing boards.

It was easier and faster to build the damn thing than replacing the decking

Supply has been crazy. The 25lb containers of screws used to have 5-10 available, and when I had to get one recently, I had to drive to a Home Depot 10 miles away, and their 3 on-hand turned out to be 1 bucket left. This would have never been a store I went to, previously

looks like you have the same situation with all those buckets

These are composite deck screws and the largest container is the ones i got. And they never have more than 4 on hand. So i was going back a few times. 38 bucks a pop too.

You’re going to wake up in the tub with 1 kidney one of these days with all these strange international women you consort with :p

I just got back to Medellin. I'm laughing at these comments here. For those that don't know the history, I lived between Rio de Janeiro and NY with my ex gf. We were snowbirds. We broke up last year and I decided to go to Colombia this year. I've been here almost 2 months. So with that background story, I asked my boss if he cares that I live in Colombia for some time (I was already here lol) and he said "yeah no problem, congratulations on your colombian gf" ehhh what? lol and then he called me Mr. International and told me to enjoy it. So maybe this is my new nickname at work.

So I traveled to Cartagena alone for my birthday and I didn't know if I would celebrate my birthday alone. I got very lucky. I did a boat tour at the hostel and I met 5 peruvian girls that were very cool and they were fast to welcome me to their group. An amazing group of women that I have so much gratitude for because they made my birthday very special. I ended up becoming very friendly with 1 of the girls that has a bf and she was pulling a lot of women for me lol it was a very fun time.

I arrived very early to Cartagena and I was surprised at how dirty and bad smelling Cartagena was. I couldn't see how the city was "romantic" as I heard from people. But as night fell, I started to see that the city has a charm. The old spanish architecture, the clubs, the rooftops, etc. Cartagena is a place to party and enjoy the Rosario Islands.

Friday night I went out with a colombian girl from Tinder until 3AM. Saturday I went on a boat tour to a little resort in Rosario Islands. Met the peruvian women. Snorkeled. Lunch. Went back to the city and partied more.
Sunday the girls had rented a boat and invited me to Rosario Islands. The seas were rough - 30mph winds, 5ft swells. I really love how that large center console with twin engines handled the seas and now I want 1 lol. We went to "El Cholon" it's a island with a lot of partying. Boats make a circle and in the center is tables in the water, with table service, food, mixed drinks, etc. Lots of loud music and reggaeton. The vibe is wild. Sunday night I went out with a girl from Argentina. Went to sleep at 4AM and woke up at 6AM to go to the airport.

You have to be careful in Cartagena, when I was taking things off the boat, a criminal grabbed my backpack and ran. Literally there was nothing inside. HE CAME BACK. Saying that he got my backpack from the thief, then he proceeds to show that everything is still there and asks for a tip. I lost my temper with him and started cursing him out in Spanish. I even got to try out some new words that I learned in Medellín. "You son of a b**ch!! Gonnorhea! You stole my backpack and now you want a f'ing tip!? Son of a bi**ch I will kill you! Go away NOW!" it was enough that other people intervened lol It was obvious that he stole the backpack, saw there was nothing valuable, and thought he could get a tip from me.

Anyways, I love how I'm back in Medellín and it feels like home to me.

good stuff man, Cartagena was my getaway place when i was a dumb teenager. My friends and I would drive there at night, (1ish hour drive from barranquilla), party it up, then drive back... not exactly sober. How I'm alive I have no clue.

I hope the bike is seeing good times in those paisa mountains!

I didn't bring the bike here, but I'll bring it next time. I think the plan is to go back to NY in June and return to Colombia in late August/September so I'll bring the bike then. I'm seriously considering to find a way for the residency here.

Also I think that I should try to trade my Cannondale Jekyll for something mid/short travel. The 170mm travel jekyll is overkill for 95% of the riding that I do. I sold the downhill bike in November and I think that I'll just rent when I go to the bike parks.

my 160/145 ibis ripmo is a blast. never feels bogged down due to travel and can get rowdy if needed

I’d say that is a vacuum leak.
