Then last night a friend showed me a fb post from Rapid City PD that said the outflow had been increased from 25 cfs to 80 for water rights downstream???!! Wonder which one it is. The outflow had been cut down to 25 cfs a while back and I thought that some intelligence had come to managing the reservoir to hold back water and let it fill for use later in the summer but apparently not. All I can hope for is a lot of summer thunderstorms. Last year those thunderstorms, 7th wettest July on record, helped to keep the lake at -10’.

If it continues to grow there could be a lot of water for the Colorado, Green and Missouri River water sheds in addition to the local watersheds. The record high water level at Pactola was recorded in 2015.
