What are your thoughts on the Sea-Doo Switch Pontoon Jet Boat?

I kinda like it. It has to be one of the most interesting and versatile, trailerable pontoons I have seen.

I really like the fact that it has a modular deck tiles, so that the deck furniture can be re-arranged or even removed. This would be a cool feature if you actually wanted to camp on the boat. I do think the handle-bar steering seems a bit odd, but maybe it works for this particular boat?

I quickly priced out a 21' Cruise Model below, for $42,639

Price above includes:

21' long (I believe the beam is 7' 9 1/2")
230 HP
Double bimini
Camper enclosure
Trailer
7" Garmin (but the transducer is extra)

Is it an ocean worthy vessel? No, but in many inland lakes it might do well. Anyone sign up yet for a test drive?

I think it will sell well on the low end. At the 50k mark....not so sure. Didn't mention a boarding ladder and that "swim platform" isn't exactly at swim level!

Kudos to SeaDoo for breaking out of the norm and innovating with a new product like this at a reasonable price point. I remember when Yamaha had reasonably priced new, innovative boats....

We need to get new switch owners to come over to jetboaters.net!

i hop flop hard and I’ll buy one for 40% off

Kids are gone and so is the tow vehicle, but curious about the 13' with 170hp for the wife and me.

Basically a bigger jetski (not as much fun, of course) that seats 5.

Could pull it with my Tesla ;)

Did anyone see performance info (top speed, cruising speed/gph, etc...)?

Kudos to Sea-Doo for doing something new for the 2022 model year! :winkingthumbsup"

Yamaha's changes for 2022 appear to be limited to new colors and higher prices, although we will find out for sure next week.

I think it will sell but its not for me.

I bet it will get a lot of attention at the boat shows, if covid doesn't F that up again.

I really like the LINQ system. That is really innovative to be able to change your boat layout and the accessibility of it (add wake board holder, ski pole, deck space, etc). Boat looks odd to me but you will see people copy the “flexibility” of that system across other boats.

I’m intrigued for sure. Great concept and brings something new to the market. A configurable boat that you can use for different things. Good for sea doo, I hope they sell a lot of them!

Top speed on the 21ft 270hp is 44mph

Oh, wait, I think I see the progression behind this design:

(Last one apparently is a "PADDLE QWEST 618 SPORT CRUISE - ADJUSTABLE")

About 3 different threads going on this......

I do like it and I like the creativity. Could end up being a big hit. Plenty of market out there it. Would love to see how it handles in a good chop both sitting and cutting through it. The Admiral saw it and loved it.

Agree as stated above. Handle bars are quirky but PWC throttle is a deal killer

Sea-Doo's website does note that cruise control standard on all models.

I like the creative and innovative aspect of it. Anything that can knock yamaha down a peg or two to compete is a good thing for the consumers. Bring it.
