The 195 is way faster than the base TR-1 210. 53-54mph for the 195, and 44mph for thr TR-1 210. Now I agree that two pumps operating will likely have more torque than one....but not sure we do anything that would notice the difference.....

Why won't Yamaha put more powerful twin engines in the 210? That has always been the complaint with that boat right? If it had more power to go along with the size of the boat and the price it would definitely be my next boat since I can't afford the 212X.

All the 212 series (212 Limited, 212 Limited S and the 212X) have 1.8L engines...so they already make 3 boats with more power...

Thanks.. Pre ordered mid July and transport was dependent on dealer meeting with model announcement. My guess is delivery will be next week... Although I would give my left &@$@ for it to be here before the holiday weekend . :winkingthumbsup":winkingthumbsup"

If you want power looked used. I don't think they need a more powerful 210 if it is as advertised. The 210 is the economy value/model 21 footer so there are going to be tradeoffs. That's what you are sacrificing power for price, I would like them to sacrifice some more price though. They did add some new things from the previous 210 models so the increase is justifiable. I do they went overboard with the 212 lineup in price. The SS was a nice in between in older models. Now the 212 limited (basically the 2017 212ss) costs as much as a 2016 212X. It pretty much makes everyone in the 21' market either look used or settle on the 210. If you are buying a 2017 212 boat I don't know why you just don't buy a 24' boat.

You are right. Although I do wish they could put the horsepower just a little north of 250. Anyhow, if I do ever end up buying a 2017 212X it probably won't be until 2020. By then the price might be low enough for me to afford.

Yamaha has really stepped up their small boat game by adding the SVHO engine and 160 mm pump to the 19 foot hull. This engine powers the 195 to a maximum speed of just under 55 MPH which is a gain of 6 MPH over the previous 192 series.

The SVHO engine comes with;
  • A larger intercooler increasing cooling efficiency by 25%
  • A larger super chamber in the turbo
  • Larger injectors to increase fuel flow
  • A new, stronger forged piston design
  • A new oil cooler increasing cooling efficiency by 110%
The 160 mm pump has;
  • A 8 vane stator
  • A 75mm hub diameter
  • A 4 bolt end cone
The interior of the new 195 series has a Carega Italian steering wheel, all new upholstery and billet aluminum grab handles.

The single clean out plug is the new design that Yamaha has rolled out across all models.

Pictures of the new 195s are available in these threads 2017 Yamaha AR195 Photos and 2017 Yamaha SX195 Photos.

@Julian had the pleasure of trying out the new 195s earlier this month. Here is his video review.

Gets delivered Tuesday. We will be picking her up next Saturday.. Pics will be coming

@malibu Dan congrats man! After your break in please let us know how she performs with top speed and if you have any heat soak. I called my dealer earlier today and will still talk to them about the 195. Hoping they get one in soon so I can go test drive it.

First mod I would do is buy a Stoltz Ultimate 4" bow roller, cut the roller down to 3.6" wide and swap out the hard plastic stock roller. It was mar your gelcoat in the first few outings. You'll probably want some better transom straps too because the stock clam shell clasp straps suck IMO. You would be better off with some ratcheting straps or go all out for self retracting straps like Boat Buckles. I have them and love them!

@haknslash that would be informative indeed -- having owned and ridden the 192 , and with your attention to detail! Hope you get to do that.

Yea it would be cool to have a back to back feel for how each boat performs.

I knew of the 3.5" but the stock roller actually measures 3.6" so I just wanted a nice fit without the gap. ;)

haha I like my boat now, whatcha talkin' bout Willis?! :D. Once I cure heat soak I'll be happy as can be in regards to performance.

I also like my blue color scheme better than the 195 choices. I am curious mostly how big of a difference there is. I imagine 40+ hp should be noticeable.
