I was admiring on the ride back how smooth your boat crossing was while mine was jumping like a ping pong ball. I still have a lot to learn... more time on the water for me :D
Man, you were doing great!!! And still shooting with your phone, lol. Thanks for posting the clips!

Started back from Miami at 9 pm and still going strong. Should cross Florida in a couple of hours. After the crossing yesterday I discovered that I don't have my truck keys and it is being brought back by my wife Anu on the night ferry. @fromrio was awesome to show me Miami on his boat and Miami is freaking awesome. Definitely going to make a trip in December and spend a week here with my boat.
Today morning pulled the boat out of the water in the pouring rain and discovered a flat (brand new tire with a big nail right thru it). Changed the tire , put my family on a flight back home and here I am typing at 2:15 am on the way back to home. Hope to reach by tomorrow evening.

What an amazing week with some truly amazing people. Wife and kids loved every minute of it. 2018 here we come again.

Can someone tell me "what is wrong with this"?
upload_2017-7-17_2-7-9.png

Yeah, you guessed it, it's my tower. Driving 50mph to avoid any bouncing of this unhinged thing, trying to prevent it from messing up the upholstery or anything else in this boat even more. Used ratchet straps and towels and blankets to pad it up but this thing is just not the right fit (any other way than up right)...
Well, we are still not home. And of course - it ripped the cover.

Oh, how I hate this f@@@ing tower.

BTW - There is absolutely no way I could had brought this back for Yamaha inside the boat across the water - any bounce and this thing is just moving all over the place.
Thank God for @Edgar Almonte help. Bless your heart Edgar.

You missed his secret..... he has a removable tower that converts to a hydrofoil. That's why his boat runs smooth as butta in the rough!

@Glen bent an axle on his trailer in Palm Coast near Daytona. Does anyone who has already launched have a trailer that he could borrow to bring his boat the rest of the way to Fort Lauderdale?
Just spoke to Ames Trailer Supply & Repair.

The built the replacement axel on Sat, and finishing the wheel well today.

Should be rolling home tomorrow, as scheduled.

Thank you all, in particular, @Majorsmackdown

@swatski, don't sweat the cover, my shipping cover only lasted about 2000 miles before one of the seams opened up. It's disposable.

Has anybody heard froma a
Man... this trip sounds like the "gift that keeps on giving". Sorry to hear about the problems getting home guys...

Not trying to be mean here, but I'm honestly learning a lot from y'alls experience on this trip...
I learned a ton from reading about each crossing. I am thankful for everyone who shared their experiences....the good bad and ugly....

Made it home last night after having to get a replacement tire for the Audi that had a flat and I drove on it trashing it.....then drove north on I95 through serioulsy heavy rains and multiple accidents (likely from people driving too fast)....11 hour drive took 13.5....but now safe at home...and on the positive side...the boat got a nice rinse!

@swatski - thanks again for your guidance on moving the bow stop....trailer tows so much better with the proper weight distribution! Sorry you had so many problems with your boat/tower! Keep me posted on how your discussions go with Yamaha.

So many things I never got to in Bimini....but still had a great time!

@Bruce - thanks for organizing this! It takes a ton of work and coordination, and drives your stress levels up too! And thanks to the group leaders that helped guide all the new folks!

What happened to her?
She busted her mouth open. When I first saw her her chin was covered in blood, I must admit I panicked a little when I saw her. She drove back in though, she's a tough chick, that's for sure!!

Well, I like to use the shipping cover for long trips (trailering) and premium cover for mooring. The shipping cover when tighten up snag does not scratch or dull the gelcoat like the premium can. Works very well.

You know, because it is very important to take really good care of your boat. LMFAO.

Damn, we are still not home, we had to call work.

@Julian Thank you so much, I appreciate your help and advice tremendously. I needed that, especially upon my arrival when I was a bit shaken.

Excellent - right on time. I was afraid to get it done right someone would need a little time with it. BTW, I was glad to help you get here so your family could poke fun at my orange hat.

@Betik & @Amar Nanduri Please tell Claire, Sara and Anu that I can not respond on facebook because my phones touch screen is broken, I can read and see everything but that's it. I should have a new phone waiting for me at home when I get off of work *fingers crossed*

Upon close inspection, looks like my anchors beat the S**** out of the fiberglass inside the anchor locker. Add me to the 2017 crossing casualty listView attachment 59602
Not sure if it is in the Bimini suggestions but based on this year everyone should store their anchor somewhere else when crossing. That hurts to look at !
