I love the fake floor; not only to hide buy also to keep water from landing on it. Seems water always finds away in there. My floor was always wet.

Nice write up!

Thank you my man. Mine is wet as well. I think it is the cup holders. They have drains, but no tubing. This may be a future add on for me.

Little update on what I finished yesterday after work. Forgot to post this in original post, but did the JBP Seadek walkover pads and engine hatch pad. The engine hatch pad was removed on test drive at dealer, and will probably never go back in the boat. Our old boat you had to walk on rear sun deck, and step on rear seat to get in the boat. Hated that. Cushions always ripped. So love the yamaha walkover. These make it even better :

Now to the fun stuff. So my port rear under seat is full of electronics as you all see. It's great to have it all in one spot. Lose storage space, but we have all we need in the other compartments anyway so no big deal there. Now I did something from my old car show days :
View attachment 106342

Spayed the legs with this stuff to prevent water from eating up the MDF. This is a temporary solution, and may rebuild this over the winter and fiberglass it (same as sub box). We shall see how this holds up next couple outtings:
View attachment 106343

Anyway, here's what I've done. I made a two part false floor for that compartment. Long part goes in first, and then smaller upper section goes in. The whole area gets covered still leaving access to perko switch. Easily fits our 2 neoprene wakeboard jackets, and some extra lines for mooring :
View attachment 106344

Here's a shot of the step up system. It literally lays on top of the big section. Super easy removal and installation. No screws :
View attachment 106345

Back side view showing speaker still exposed :
View attachment 106346

Top view is now super clean :
View attachment 106347

Great way to hide the electronics, and still keep some storage space :

I really like this!!! Makes me think about my port side under seat storage with my 242 X. They put in a large wall to segment off the ballast bag, but I'm pretty sure it is way too high, and if I did something like this, I could add quite a nice bit of storage above the bag and the batteries and amps.

One more project for me to consider!!! LOL

Hell yeah. I like it. It just hides things so gorgeously. I'm going to redo it over the winter when I can take my time, and fiberglass it before carpet. Call this a prototype thing to see if I like it. Well I like it so let the planning begin

You can see from these two photos that there is probably at least 8 inches for vertical space in my battery compartment. Would be perfect for storing shoes, ropes etc! I'm imagining cutting down the ballast wall to the height of the top of the battery and just having a platform at that level (doesn't need to go above the ballast).

In the newer 21 foot boats, they sunk the batteries even lower in this compartment to make more room-and put a cover over them.

Oh yeah. Totally possible. A little work, but it'll have great function

Don't just put a drain on them. You're going to want to seal all the way around them as well. Damn things leak like a seive.

Awesome. Appreciate that info for sure. That's the only thing I can come up with unless it's leaking under cushions as well when I wash

@Hoyt Are your amps mounted to the floor? Are you concerned about water? Maybe have a sub-floor and then a fake floor? My amps were located in the port side storage area and mounted vertical high up away from the floor. No chance of getting wet. I'd also looking into venting that area as there is not much airflow and could get hot in there. Amps do get hot and produce a fair amount of heat.

@Hoyt I'm concerned the amps will not get enough ventilation to stay cool. They don't need a lot, just a bit of air movement to let the heat rise out of the storage compartment.

Yeah they are mounted directly to the floor. I thought about raising them up, but rushed putting it in. Not a bad idea at all to do like a seaboard type floor mounted on seaboard legs. Then do a false floor. I'm not too worried about water though. Worse it will get is overflow from when I wash the boat. Done that already. They don't get wet but areas of carpet do. Wetsounds are waterproof, but they are electronic sooooooo. What your saying is not a bad idea at all. Good winter project sounds like ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Venting I use corks to hold the seat partially open while under mooring cover. Otherwise I don't vent. Right now I'm 100% against cutting into the boat. That may change over time though. As for heat Wetsounds amps stay cold as ice even after hours of pumping.

I can see that. The amps stay super cool though. Like I feel no change in not running, and running for hours. Wetsounds thing I guess? Then again it's not super hot right now. 80-95ยฐ. However, the whole side of the boat is open bow to stern under the gunwales

Huh....one of my Polk amps used to over heat and go into protection mode until I took the speakers out of series (factory config). Never heard of an amp that doesn't get hot....huh....

They definitely don't get hot. Not really even warm. Maybe I'm too used to Rockford or Jbl, but these wetsounds are unlike any amp I've used. Next time I go out I'll shoot them with the infrared thermometer before and after running

Still doesn't change the fact that I should probably move them off the floor though

Wetsounds are NOT waterproof. They are built for humid applications but are definately not waterproof. As for heat, they get warm and depending on demand may get hot. They have a built-in protection mode for this and if they're being pushed too hard will shut down to protect itself.

From the HTX_Series Manual.

Yes, mount where I did in the port side storage area. Easy to run wires down the side. Use 4-gauge wire to supply power to the unit.

Put the cover on her the other day. Hands down best purchase for the boat. Not bad to put on by myself, but a helper would've been better. Love the way it fits with the tower up. Also pulled the Rev10s off to go to the storage yard. So simple to pull them off as well. Here's the pics :

Got a few more little things to come in next week. Almost time to put her up for the long sleep though ๐Ÿ˜ข.

I watched the video, does it rattle whenever you shut the door where the sub is? That would get annoying

Yes. Yes it does. Rattles very very bad. It is totally going to get annoying I can see that coming. Leave the door open, and it sounds great though. I'm thinking about maybe trying to seal the door and latch with something. Don't know if all the rattles will be gone though. It hits extremely hard.
