Your friend has a beautiful sled! wink wink

Tell him to put a coil on that thing!
You have the same bike, right? Is that bike progressive enough for a coil and big hits? He has been playing with that DVO shock and put some tokens in it for more progression. But it took away the poppy feel. So now he's putting it back to the way it was. I converted my jekyll to coil and would like to go to a lighter spring, but im not sure it could take big hits. Its progressive, but not progressive enough to my liking.

I have the DVO prorate spring. The bike kinematics are progressive but not super progressive. The prorate spring helps with that. mine is 425-500.

The other thing I'll be doing soon is adding the Cascade components link. It gives it a super plush initial stroke and a nice progressive end of stroke. Not to mention, a few mm of extra travel in the back.

Just went to the $1 (plus tax) store and bought a small pile (17) of imitation damp rid for to winterize my boat and wave runners with. It’s weird because it seems premature in that it was a hot / perfect boating weather day when I bought these.

My friend talked about that cascade components link. The site says stock is a low 19% progressivity so that prorate spring must be the only thing stopping you from bottoming out.
I just ordered a lighter 400lbs spring for my Jekyll. The current 450lbs spring is 18-20% sag. I'm hoping to get more sag and ride more in the mid-range to make the bike less planted. Time will tell if it has a harsh bottom out.. The rockshox coil has a big bumper in the last 15% of travel to dampen it.

That's pretty low sag!
I've bottomed out a time or two but after pretty big hits. I really like the way the bike rides with the prorate spring. I'm sure with the CC link it will be even better.

My son (left in the pic) was visiting, I did my usual Manhattan tour for him and his HS friend and new wife.
It was awesome.
Minor inconvenience, Pier 25 dock has new pick up/drop off rule set due to covid, it's a nightmare that involves having to go through DOCKWA to drop off or pick up, truly nonsensical!
It's all good though, we just navigate those bs rules and get ahead.

Oh, and no Manhattan tour would be complete without the Caldwell Seafood stop for a dinner!!!
We cleared them of several menu items, I almost felt bad for the incoming patrons that night, lol.

@swatski wait, whose wife is that, the son's, or his buddy? If it's his, did your wife put the oyster order in your ear? Is she looking ahead to being a grandmother? 😉

Windy day out on the Lake yesterday. This guy was "Loyal to the foil" as he was kite surfing with a foil board. Here he had just pulled himself back up out of the water after taking a swim.

I also saw this boat all set to make the trip South. Unstepped mast lashed to the deck. They are heading down the Champlain Canal to the Hudson River and then down the Atlantic coast to warmer waters. The mast will be stepped once they clear the low bridges on the Hudson.

That does not sound like an easy task on the water.

They will need to stop by a boatyard to have that done. A travelift with a crane arm will be needed. Something like this.

Sailing is not an inexpensive endeavor
Some parts, no, but that comes with a bigger boat. However we have not purchased diesel in two years of boating. Our sails are our engines most of the time.

What you flying? I used to fly a BE400 that had a similar avionics set up, looking at your placard with your speeds it’s clearly something much larger. I got to sit in the G650 sim last week for a moment, the glass on some these newer jets is absolutely amazing.
