I have been looking for a perfect rack for awhile. A pair to be exact, w/a swivel. Last couple of boat shows I monkeyed around a few towers and the absolute best I could find for the 240 tower is the XTP rack. It is solid all around. XTP is also the OEM tower/rack manufacturer for the new Yammies, although the factory uses a different model.

This rack has everything I need and also the simplest design with a central pivot and a pin. It is extremely well made, albeit pretty pricey at $400 a piece.

An almost identical rack is available from Monster Tower (and it is almost $100 less) but they do not sell the OEM version which is the exact fit. So, unfortunately only XTP carries the exact size for the 240 tower leg (a hair less than 2" OD) which they call 1.5" (as they go by the internal diameter).

I ordered directly from XTP calling John Wiser:

So here it came today, a beautiful pair:

The quality is outstanding. I have had various swivel racks in the past, have a feeling this is going to be the favorite!

EDIT: And, it does fit a 2017 Hyperlite 59" QUAD Wakesurf BWF, with room to spare.

VERY nice @swakski!!!
I literally just purchased a new Yamaha AR240 Deluxe Swivel Wakeboard Rack Port Side Silver 1 7/8" two days ago, arrgh!
Well at least I only paid $378, no tax or shipping, so it could be worse. But these seem like they may be nicer. oh well.

I think you picked a great rack, no worries!

That what I ordered for mine. Very happy with quality of it.

Do you happen to have any pictures of these installed? Looking to get 1 (or 2) soon!

Nothing on hand as I only put those on and immediately took them off, working on other projects. The fit is perfect.
Kicking myself for not taking pics at boat shows when I was looking at those.
BTW - if you are on a fence, I would try to find one at a boat show - to get a feel for it. In my experience, there is a huge difference in how different models operate and feel.
Needless to say - this one is my fave!

You mind if I ask how much you paid for the racks? I need a pair.

Back tower, black racks or silver? What do you think.

I don't remember if those are offered in black, but polished aluminum is probably most practical and looks great on black tower, along with the bimini frame etc.
As far as the tube sizing - I would talk to them (XTP's John Wiser) - they know exactly what is what in each model.

I don't see in the discretions how thick a board they will take. Will a 3.5 inch thick zup board fit any or all of them?

Here is a photo of my 242X that has almost identical racks to the ones @swatski bought....I love them!

Yep, I think those are the same racks, OEM. Aren't they the best?

Thanks @swatski for the info.

Hey @Julian , What rod holder is that?
Another thing I need to add to my Swiss Army Boat.

I've got a call into XTP - John said he changed positions about 6 months ago and sent me to James (extension 415) instead. James says they cannot sell direct to consumer anymore and asked me to call up Monster.

I tried the Reborn swivel rack and gravity kept winning so hoping that the XTP works for me (otherwise, looking at Samson which is far more than I want to spend!).

I've had both, there is simply no comparison.
XTP racks for Yamaha towers are completely bulletproof.

Since the new contact at XTP says they can't sell direct to consumer, he referred me to Monster (funny - exact opposite of guidance previously given where Monster referred to XTP!). Anyway - found a fair price on a Monster wake/surf rack combo with swivel for 1 7/8" clamp so have ordered that. Hope it will hold up - should know in next 2 weeks.

I was trying to get my hands on the same racks last season. After running into the same tube diameter issue and contacting Monster and being told I was more or less out of luck... I was going to go the same route as @WilCo.

Then, just out of coincidence, I decided to check my local classifieds. Low and behold, some guy in southern Utah had a pair that look identical to the OEM ones AND actually had the correct size clamp... the previous owner of his boat thru them in but they didn't fit his boat, they were basically new. I didn't hesitate to snatched them up... I'm nearly certain they're the XTP ones... they're awesome!

I previously had these from Yamaha
https://shopyamaha.com/product/deta...=Search&ls=yamaha-motor-company&dealernumber=
But they wouldn't fit my surf boards.
