I heard this before and it is incorrect. The 240 hull is a completely different hull from the 230. I went as far as measuring the chines and comparing the shape and they are completely different. The new hull is also a completely new hull.
I am not saying it wasn't changed, I am saying it is basically the same hull. And sure, change up the chines and move a strake here or there, but it was still the same basic shape with the same deadrise. The other stuff was not performance related. I buy your comparison however, because if you make any change in a hull mold, your still making a new mold I am sure. But as yamaha hulls go, they are very similar and not a drastic change. Now, this new hull, it looks vastly different with the keel droop and transom changes. I expect the new boat is worth more. Just not sure I see the wisdom in 5-10% price increases every year.
