2018 Bimini June trip (June 24th - June 30th)

For the record @Julian , my 2 guesses were correct in Stan and Mike both having tools.

Probably overpaid, but that's the fun thing about alcohol, it just doesn't matter right now!

Well if you over paid you really should talk to @bronze_10 he would love to sell you his boat for more then it's worth! @bronze_10 you need to get on this now my good sir!

In front of building 18 right near the office. I can't go down there right now but I can drop it on your boat in the morning.

That will work...

I agree who the heck needs one ballers have two I mean when one get low on fuel what are you supposed to do actually go put gas in it like common folk no you have a second one full of gas on the dock and call someone to come fill the other up who has time for petty stuff like going to the gas station. Plus these thing only increase in value they are very limited edition yamaha only made 32,000 of them in 2007 it s rare to own one.

^ my sentiments exactly

@Betik and @Bruce I have a feeling @veedubtek will be registering for the July trip unless the return crossing is rough then def not but if its good he is in.

unless the return crossing is rough

Have you looked at the forecast for Saturday? 1.3 footers rocking your starboard side. Small water but some may get seasick. Later in the morning the wind picks up.

Hopefully it will improve or switch to waves pushing you home.

Looks like you will have great weather Tuesday to Friday in Bimini.

Based on the forecast I would go for Victory Reef on Thursday and Great Isaacs on Friday. Both would also be great days to search for dolphins.

No talking about the ride home already.....:winkingthumbsup"

@swatski even with the smooth crossing today about 12 miles outside bimini @Ramblin Wreck wife said she heard a funny noise coming from the tower no BS my passenger side tower bolt backed completely out during the crossing. We screwed it back in but that was crazy for a smooth crossing.

I am sure it was cross threaded; nothing to do with the design LOL

That is bullshit. I can not believe it.
Wait, I can believe it.
My daughters pointed out after the trip they think they've heard a funny noise in the tower - just before it collapsed. I guess it would make sense...
Shame on Yamaha. Oh, no - shame on you? Operator's error, right? lol.

Anyway - glad you found it on time! Just like @ThatJeepGuy last year. You guys are obviously way smarter that I!

Gotta do the "fix" I guess.

Curious, was the bolt cross threaded or in good shape prior to departure? Multiple failures on the same crossing (rough or smooth no matter) gives worry, and shows it's not an isolated incident. Wondering if it's an initial condition that is causing it, or if it's a function of the vibrations.

Damn this is nuts! Ever since last year and @swatski misfortune I have made it a point to periodically check my tower bolts to see if they get loose. So far (knocks on wood) they haven't moved even in some rougher riding. Yamaha better get this fixed before someone dies from it or gets a serious injury.

Agreed. I raise/lower my tower at least twice an outting, and mine are in good shape despite a few encounters with rough conditions.

This isn't a structural problem, but it's clearly a safety concern. There are a few EASY fixes that Yamaha could apply that would cost very little, and would eliminate these backing out problems. Cross threaded screws or not.

ALSO......In a non tower related thought. Do the 19ft guys ever make the crossing? I've seen a video online of a FSH19 making the crossing, but it seems everyone on this board is in a 23+ ft boat. Do I have any hope of getting my little AR190 over there?
